I heard this song in a coffee shop and instantly fell in love with both the coffee and the song. 💕

And yet, once the opportunity presents itself...back to Dark Matter and the title track. This album is a lyrical Jackson Pollack piece, in the best way.

When you find a song that feels like soul medicine. The lyrics play out not just in the song but in your life too 💜

I want you to imagine that you are floating in space. You have no special suit, but you can breathe, and you can fly like a rocket ship. You're in a distant galaxy far away from home. All around you is the virtually infinite universe full of stars and planets and comets. And you are completely alone. The very idea to me is terrifying. The instant yearning to return home seems overwhelming. The sense of isolation is incomprehensible. And the vast unknown which I am plunged in strikes a fear in me that I cannot explain with words. And yet, somehow, this song makes me feel less scared. Even if by a tiny bit. There's this essence in the whole Black Bear album, punctuated most by this song, that somehow releases your soul from your body. It not only makes you feel like you could travel the entire universe, but that you were meant to. And all of a sudden, your life falls into perspective.

Lyrics: I'm just getting over this My fingers are arguing over which One of them gets to climb down your wrist Introduce themselves to yours first I try to make sense of this 'Cause my lips are starting to make a list Of all of the things that they seem to have missed Before the day that they met yours Oh but, how many lives have we How many lives have we How many lives have we led You're just getting over him Your eyes are shining But oh so dim I heard he tore you apart limb from limb You promise it wasn't the worst And I hope there's enough for you 'Cause my love is bleeding and slightly bruised You be the page and then I'll be the glue Come here, I'll show you it hurts Forget all the times that you sat felt sorry for yourself 'Cause that's done I hope that you're falling for me and not just for my wealth 'Cause there's none My heart's speeding up so I think that we should take it slow Oh no, I Think we should try to see just how far this thing can go Oh, oh I'm just getting over her It's funny cause I thought I was so sure You be the patient and I'll be the cure Ain't that just the way that it goes Oh but, how many lives have we How many lives have we How many lives have we led

This song gives me all the feels. I think about the boy I'm in love with when I listen to it. Would love to see a live version and am waiting patiently for someone to post a clip of a show, or anything. Andrew if somehow you see this comment, a live version would be incredible. 🙏💕 Hoping to see you in real life one day. Xoxo.

Cada que la escucho esta bonita canción me recuerda a un libro llamado "Eleanor y Park", libro que en todas sus facetas marco gran parte de mi, es un amor tan juvenil, bonito y sublime de esos que no se encuentran ahora.

The lyrics in this album are beautiful and profound. I wish more artists sang songs with actual meaning, rather than having everything being about sex and love. I mean yes these songs have romantic connotations but not every single one. Mainstream music gets repetitive.
