​@@chriser555 lol let me point out something to you. When Ole came in as interim, he played Matic, Pogba and HERRERA in a 3 man midfield, consistently. We had the best period we've had since Fergie, it ended not because Ole was made permanent but because Herrera got injured. Before he could recover, we let him go to PSG in summer 2019 over salary and United and Pogba never looked as good again. Ole also never actually replaced him

Watched Ugarte against the US in the copa and he kept popping up with defensive actions. Tackles at the top of the box, clearing off the line. Think for the right price he may be a good addition.

@@marcwilson6524 agreed...his price seems like good value for a second option. And he's levels above Amarabat in regards to pace and ability to keep up with the faster play.

I’d still like to bring in Amrabat permanently as he’d be piss cheap. Would be great to have him and another like Ugarte. If we can also get Rabiot like you say, that’s 3 excellent midfielders for about £20 million in the books for this year. Assuming Rabiot is free and Ugarte is on loan. Very PSR friendly. Too good to be true though, that isn’t happening.

I totally agree we need multiple 6 or 8 type midfielders and if we get ugarte we should get amrabat to stay as well and we are solved in the center of the park for a low amount of spend. Best of all it keeps mctominay out of 6 or 8 which he technically and statistically cannot do well.

Seems okay, wouldn't mind keeping Amrabat too. We need squad depth. Also fingers crossed for Mason Mount being ready next season then him and Bruno can do the business.

It makes me laugh and makes me sad that Mason Mount has COMPLETELY and I mean COMPLETELY been forgotten about and basically been reduced to Fred.. we need 2 midfielders they say.. what about Mount? We need someone on the right we got nobody.. what about Mount? We spent 60‼️‼️‼️ million on this kid and he’s apparently not first choice and not even first choice off the bench with the signings WOW!!

What is he? He isn't a 6, he isn't really a winger and Fernandes is our no.10. He never had a place in our side and that is not taking into consideration how prone he is to injury and that he has been pants for 2 seasons. This is why he is being forgotten. If we played more like city he could defo play as a no.8 but we don't and Mainoo needs a competent passing, press resistant enforcer alongside him. I thought Ten Hag would make him an energetic replacement for erikson and perhaps he will but nobody is holding their breath.

He'll be our Martinez of our midfield having that fighting spirit that warrior like attitude that aggression but can also play abit. Perfect long term replacement for Casemiro

Now this guy is the real deal. Top CDM at the Copa. Look at the goal line save he made against the US. He was a destroyer and got away fouling that perfect South American way like 10 times without getting even a telling off. Just has that Pirlo type vision to with his medium passes

Urgate is Mint I hope we go for Ederson from Atalanta too we need 2 Midfielders👌

He has superb characteristics and as long as he is better at progressive passing than Rice, he will be perfection. Rice simply cannot create anything, ever and although Ugarte doesn't need to be Pirlo, he needs to be able to create when presented with an opportunity.

I watch a lot of PSG and Ugarte is a fantastic player. Enrique doomed the season by alienating all of the physical players in favor of finesse players and Ugarte is exhibit A. If PSG do not want him, this is a perfect opportunity for any team with any sense.

Manuel Ugarte is a solid defensive midfielder. I´ve been a fan since his years in Sporting and he is a type of player that Manchester United is lacking.

Don’t know much about this kid but from what I’ve gathered in your video I think 40 mil maybe 40-50 is probably fair price. More than 50 I would say na mate. Either way it’s hard to see Casemiro going anywhere he’s on massive wages and still has 2 years left on the contract. Not been a single rumor or hint of him leaving. I expect Casemiro to be here end of the window barring a last minute bid from Saudi

Would love to see a comparison between all the DMs we've been linked with and who Steve would prefer for ETH system, if money was no issue

Instead of Rabiot and the high wage demand and drama he'd probably come with, I'd she'll some extra money if we have it to get Caqueret as the rotation option. The only weakness would be height in rotation but I'd prefer that over Rabiot both stylistically and age-wise. If we kept Scott and Amrabat, our midfield would be Ugarte and Amrabat in rotation, Caqueret and Kobbie in rotation and Scott and Bruno in rotation. If we get Zirkzee, Scott would suit the midfield runner beyond the deep lying forward that Lewis Ferguson did at Bologna

I worry if he doesn't have a goal threat in him. For all of Casemiro's weaknesses he showed last season, he was still able to come up with a goal here and there, especially on the set piece. And it's such an underrated ability to be a goal threat as a No.6, when the players around you are struggling to finish chances.

We just need a hard tackler and a ball winner, a younger Casemiro or a tackling version of Fred..Bruno and Mainoo will do the carrying and progression..Also keep Amrabat as an understudy..

This guy will flourish in the prem. Especially if they sign de ligt. Exactly the moves United need to go back to the top. Zirkzee and 1 more and next season looks amazing

If he's so good why are PSG willing to sell at a loss? I think the "simplicity" in his game might be an issue for a top club.

If Case won't go, we can continue to play him in defence as ETH did towards the end of the season. It seems the only area of the pitch where he could be considered for selection during an injury crisis. His days as a tough-tackling midfielder are gone now, with his lack of legs and poor passing.

i don't think Case was that bad, i think the absence of Martinez caught him out a little bit, with our playstyle last season, of course his pass looks a lot worse, we basically play long more often than possession, i dont think his defensive stat is bad, if you see on fbref he's on 99% on block and clearance, and also 98% on tackle and 88% on heading, we saw him every week so we remember when he lost duel, late tackle, or slow run but he always was, just because we did a lot more defensive last season that's why he looks really bad. but ya, the main problem with him is his wage.

Make him a striker with McSauce when we need aggression against their defence. He has scored goals already.

I'd argue there is a tangible quality to what a DM brings. Every great team has a great DM. Whether its a Mekelele style - Fernandinho, which Urgate seems to be a little of, or a positional DM like the golden generation of this type - Carrick, Busquets, Alonso, or a hybrid like Kante and Rodri. Its the core position that I think United need to build around this season - go all in for type that is needed and we could move levels up. I see a lot of quality from Urgate. His aggression made me nervous before seeing him go in on a challenge against pulisic and bending his leg the wrong way - supposedly no damage but man that looked bad. I think he would be real good for us, but I would go all in for Neves.

@@user-uw5jo4wc2l what are you referring to? if its me saying Kante and Rodri aren't both a hybrid, I can agree with that, though I haven't seen enough games of Kante to say for sure, but Rodri seems to me a hybrid of a Mekelele style DM and that of the positional nous that Carrick, Busquets and Alonso had - Rodri seems to have the best of both worlds and as a result might some day be considered the best in the position - but time will tell and everyone has their own preferences and things like what was needed for the era the player played in has to be taken into to account. That said, all these names will have merit as being on a list for the best imo

this transfer seems the most unlikely to me so Im unsure why it keeps getting so much coverage, he signed for psg last season they paid 60m euros for him and they are in the champions league, am i missing something? hes had 1 season at psg...

It's not always about money, it's about the system, u do know who's the manager of PSG right? Yes Enrique, now the question is does Enrique play a pressing system???? Yes exactly NO! it's similar with Spain, possession game, pass, pass, and pass where a brutal DM like Ugarte didn't really fit on that style, Ugarte is the kind of DM who will win us the ball and run forward as soon as he land a tackle, so yeah he didn't fit in PSG system.

Alonso, yes. Hernandez, no. Busquets was the Barcelona 6. If you're making the argument that he was the general like Pirlo was or how Kroos is, then yes I agree, but Barca didn't really play like that.

from what I read he said it's fine. but the clip I saw of it looked bad. It looked like it bent the wrong way laterally. That being said, the CB from Dortmond had a similar thing happen to him during the Champions League final and not only did he continue, he's playing in the Euros - Slotterback I think it was, so what do I know. he's young which is good for injury recovery. I guess we'll have to wait and see and hope/expect management does its due dilligence for making sure he'll be ok.
