Manual or Electronic Dust Blower? Nitecore BlowerBaby BB2

Ойын-сауық

While manual dust blowers are cheap and decently affective. Having an electronic blower allows for constant high power air flow, making cleaning your lens and sensor much easier. The Nitecore BlowerBaby BB2 packs quite a punch and could even cool you off on a hot summers day on set!

This guy has the best, fast intro to this blower: shows you the dials up close. Says only what is necessary and speaks clearly. And no stupid loud music and nonsense. Thank you!

Depending how the motor is programmed or accepts voltage, if I reversed the polarity the fan may spin the other way turning it into a mini vacuum :D And thanks! Still not as good as your setup in my opinion :P

Should we worry it will damage the precious lens surface or sensor like a sand blast if the air it blows is mixed with dust it sucked?

There is a filter to keep dust from being shot out of the BB2. Though I do not feel dust will have the same effect as a sand blast.

Only problem is you need another blower to clean out your blower filter tray. ;)

Can I use this on a desktop?

  • @MiroAcronymity

Yes, but make sure to block computer fans from turning when you blow at them because they could generate a current and short the motherboard.

@@mrshaheedmalik that doesn't avoid the problem entirely. If you can without damaging anything, stick a thin object into the fan blade so that it can't move when you blow air at it. That said, I have used a vacuum to clean my desktop computer and lazy old me just held it to the outside if the case and let the fans spin. Nothing ever happened. The chance seems to be slim. There is no guarantee though so I would take precautions, if possible.

Hey hey Jepp! Hahaha it sure does! The price is definitely up there for its function. I will say that since reviewing this blower I have been using it all the time to clean off my sensor and lenses right before a shoot. It's definitely something I'm using more than I thought I would.

I remember when people thought before they spoke.. 🤔 For me I don't mind, I'm not bothered by it being pointed out. For the consideration of others.
