He came to Turkey in 2002. I was little but my mother attended the festival. She bought his album, we used to listen to this album day and night for 1 month. Whenever I listen to this album, I go back to my childhood and pure happy memories.

Yesterday i opened Winamp after a long time to listen some greek course lessons and Winamp opened the last thing i was listening - Manu Chao playlist. Needless to say that i forgot about greek lessons and started listening Manu :) That's how great his music is!

I was 18 as this masterpiece came out. Initially was like a secret - only passed from friend to friend... I can't remeber that I saw a corresponding videoclip on MTV. But I can remember how a buddy showed me the music first. My buddy did not speak Spanish and asked me to explain the lyrics... At the same time I was like "Wow, wow, wow!!! Never heard something like this before... so simple, so genious, but yet so familiar...", that was the moment I felt spontaneusly in love with this Album. It is February 2021 by the time of this writing. I'm in Germany. Still society is fighting against Corona. On one of my many walks I do during the night, I followed the drum sounds I heard in the air. Then as I appoximated the music group, I saw and heard a group of young people singing"Clandestino" loud and full from their hearts. I started smiling and at the same time tears came out of my eyes. So beautiful to see, hear and feel, when people passionately sing those songs, feeling their sadness and hope all at the same time. It raised my mood confidence: "this shall also pass". 💖🙏

My aunt who is fluent in Spanish and a social worker for Hispanic immigrants gave me a burned copy of this CD when I was 10 or 11 and it will always be one of my favorite albums. Still has the same impact on my adulthood like it did my childhood.

Credit where it's due. I think most people will agree this album is really a work of art.

Antes de irme a clases de inglés por allá entre 2013 y 2014 ponía este disco, era costumbre al principio poner solo las tres primeras canciones porque el resto no me gustaba y luego avancé a escucharlo todo en mis ratos libres. Pero hoy lo recordé con 18 años y no me arrepiento de escucharlo entero otra vez.

Tiempos atrás, tiempos actuales y tiempos futuros......

My aunt burned this album on a CD for me when I was in 3rd grade. I’m 23 almost 24 now and this album will forever hold a special place in my heart. It reminds me of my childhood and reassessing it now and reading the lyrics I find so much more meaning and sentiment in it.

I listened to this every night/morning with my French travel partner I met in Morocco, stumbling back to the hotel in Granada, Spain for a week. Beautiful.

This reminds me of Greece when I was a kid listening to this in beach bars, Hacienda and Delmare outside Komotini. One of the best summery albums :)

+pillluuu Maybe Europe or US wouldn't be facing problems with immigrants if they leave other people alone once. I'm South American and European countries have taken almost everything we had and today we still have our culture crushed or stolen. Europe did an even worst thing to Africa. You should study history from a more accurate or at least a more fair point of view. Europe is rich today for its centuries of robbing others countries.

Because no Turk has ever invaded my country. No turk has ever stolen our goods, killed and enslaved my people, taken away our culture and history or made we believe that we are the "third world" and that we should be ashamed of it. It's a shame that the turks did the same, and other people did the same. I disapprove them all, but only Europeans did this specifically to me and my people. Not that I want any European to suffer in any way, not at all. I just know that Europe will eventually have to deal with all the wrong they did, just as everybody else. Don't it seem hypocritical that the people who invaded virtually every country of the western hemisphere (plus Africa, Oceania, some Asian countries, etc) now complains about immigration? To me it does.

This is a masterpiece in any sense you can think of. THANK YOU, MANU CHAO!

My mom and dad used to put this on in the car when i was little. Hearing this now, it hits with a lot of nostalgia.

j'adore cet album, il est tellement beau, agréable à écouter tout le temps et les instru...

One point rarely mentionned: the transitions from one song to another one is really clean. It's really well edited.

Fred S that's why I edited & uploaded this :D the other versions I could find on here back then all had those ugly gaps between the tracks that made listening much less enjoyable

I think that was the intention on the original recording. I remember wandering around southern Mexico in the early 2000's listening to this album on CD (ha!) constantly. It always struck me that even though the CD was skipping to the next track, the tonal segue was always there. Now, listening to in streaming and seamless MP3 format it sounds more fluid than ever..... hasta la ultima ola!

Mentira todo es una mentira!!!! Grande Manu Chao. Tuve la dicha de ir a ver tu concierto en Austin, Texas hace unos años atrás y pude estrechar mi mano junto a la tuya y eso fue lo máximo ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Noviembre 19,2022 quien escuchando a este grande????

My father is from Mexico and we went to Mexico to get me started on my own where I was going to record some electric guitar and we used to listen to Manu Chao with all the people on the Block it was great
