It's crazy that all three play/sound exactly like their respective bands, but they all work so well together. Trent's keyboard has that future tech rock sound like NIN. Josh has that perfect QOTSA sound. and Dave as always is a monster on drums.

There are 4 guys playing music here, despite the title. If you watch the video, you see the 4th guy who is running a synthesizer. If you listen around during the piano solo, you hear the synthesizer right around 5:02. Then at 5:10 the guy smiles at you for making that sound that you didnt hear... And who wasnt put in the title. I seriously do not think I will ever hear anything more perfect than this .....its beyond beautifull
Man, I love when the engineer is just grinning at 5:10. Anybody's who's been on that side of the glass has probably worn that grin at some point. That's the face you make when you're witnessing magic, and you know how privileged you are to play a small part in capturing it.

Knowing Trent, it's either intentional, or there's a delay in his headphones.
It's cool how musicians speak this subtle language, where you can learn to anticipate each other's moves just by the nuances in their playing.

I’ve listened to both this and the final version. With a name like “mantra “, this one is mesmerizing, the way a mantra should be. Slow crescendo, lots of repetition. Love it.
I hear the NIN influence the most.
This song has quite literally been lifeline for me some days. Over the last year I've been purging pretty much everything in life that just wasn't working anymore. It was needed but often has been painful and hard, and because I have an anxiety disorder there's been lots of fear and doubt, and trusting myself in situations is a struggle. But this song reminds me why I'm doing any of this. I tell myself that I'm different, so my life is going to be different. (And all of this will never be the same again) And there are days when I listen to it on repeat. If any of you ever wonder if the music you make makes a difference, it absolutely does! Music and art have the ability to heal and unite souls and it matters. Thank you. ❤️🔥
Love how people keep commenting how great this would be with a lead vocal. I say BS love the instrumental sound way better. This song don't need shit to make it better..
