@@kevinjohnson4599 served during korean war. the storey is about death. every chance i had when juke boxes were in restuarants, played mantavani. my mind is placed back to early 50s when hearing this so beautiful love song ........that i cry.

Remembering my father he really love this song so much

I fell in love with this song in 1955 when I saw the film 'Love is a many Splendored thing' and it has been 'my song ever since .

Mantovani's music is in a class of it's own. It puts me into the most wonderful moods, reminiscing of lovely stirring experiences when I think of my romantic episodes with my beautiful wife of 58years. Mantovani readily takes away things that are not positive in life and lifts me to a level that's indescribable. Love all his presentations.

A sad but wonderful Melody, and reminds me there is real love, I think

drafted because of korean war, was sent to england to defend bomber bases. on trip to london hear mantovani my favorite then. actually saw the movie in london. ah, what romantic marvels we humans be.

The movie 'Human Traffic' brought me here. What a beautiful, bittersweet ending this was.

Please do read the book by Han Suyin, the movie you speak of was based on this book, "A Many splendoured Thing". So well-written and such a beautiful true story...

the history behind the music is wonderful. i've somewhat lived the music and mantavani, london 1955. the feeling expressed within hurts due to magnificent memories. a us army korean war soldier.

I've heard about 100 versions of this song, but as some have already commented, this is the single best version of it ever recorded. What is so amazing is that Mantovani even managed to put in the dramatic elements of the film as well, never before heard outside of the original soundtrack. This towering melody truly requires the hand of a dramatic, orchestral virtuoso, and Mr. M. truly brought it. Kudos.

This 7-min. version is soo unusual. If a section is repeated, it's done so skillfully that it transcends being an "edit." Mr. Newman probably never heard this fantastic accomplishment. Love those Italian names "Annunzio Mantovani."
