Hey thanks for your videos! I just got the mantis V3, 7m. Just wondering if the wingspan is the same as the vision 7m? I keep hearing the vision is great for low wind, so why make a mantis 7m if vision is better in the bigger sizes? I guess my question is, who are the larger (6m/7m) mantis v3 for?

I’ve used both ‘23 5m Mantis and Vision, this is a really good wrap up. Vision would be my pick if you want a more forgiving wing and you’re not into pumping. New handles are best on market ❤ I’ve ridden the Units and Slicks and these handles are awesome.

@@Fuzel I’d probably go the Vision. Pretty sure it’s lower aspect than the Unit and a softer feel. More forgiving pump too. I moved to the Slick SLS from the Unit because it was a bit too grunty and brutal in the gusts. Depends on your height and weight though, tall and heavy Mantis and Unit should work better

@@Fuzel nice, I’m getting a 2.5m Vision for the stronger days for a bit more comfort and range

I have been playing with the 8M for about a week. I wrote a review on Facebook and my take away was almost identical to your reactions. I flew the 8M in the lightest winds to date. I also tried it out for 3 hours and 30 miles in 20 to 30mph winds, and though I would not recommend it, it handled it without blowing out my forearms like most 8M would. In 10 to 14 mph, it was pulling my Link out of the water and on foil with no work at all. I will need to make some light wind video to stop the skepticism. At over 190lbs in full gear, nothing is putting me on foil in light winds like that 8M Vision. The 8M Vision is my favorite new toy😀🤙

Sonny been a while brother. Much love! Well I feel they are similar but sounds like Brodie rigs the same size Mantis or Vision for the same session. Not sure we would have to measure one. Maybe reach out to www.cabrinha.com direct and ask they might be able to give you those specs. We would but do not have a 8m in our hands right now. They both will work for light winds. Vision comes in a 8m and a Mantis in a 7m in the larger sizes.

Hey guys, thanks for the review. I’m mixed on the Mantis V2 and wondering whether I should give them another shot or move brands. I needed to do warranty claims on 2 of 3 wings within 4 months (strut stitching and valve glue). I have a 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5. Love the smaller wings, but dislike the 4.5. The 2.5 and 3.5 are well balanced and handle gusts well. The 4.5 tends to dive (wing tip dips to the water) when hit with a gust and going up wind. If I move my hands much further back on the handles it handles better, but still annoyed it is different than the smaller wings. BTW, I wing a lot living on Maui and retired. When I mentioned to the Duotone testing crew what the 4.5 was doing they said they had prototype that did the same which they abandoned.

Tom, I would file a warranty if you have not already, I am sure you have and sometimes with any company there can be a delay on parts or replacements unfortunately. I believe the new wings are very very good but maybe being in Maui you can demo one of the new wings before hand so you 100% know it is the wing for you. That is the goal in the end to be enjoying this sport to the max.

As a follow up. I have now done 4 warranty claims on my 3 wings. The front handles on the 2.5 and 3.5 broke. Apparently that was a huge problem with the v2s. Good thing they updated the handles on the new wings. I’ve never had sporting goods with so many durability problems. I guess the good thing is they have been good about fixing them.

I noticed with previous versions of Mantis that the fabric lost its tenacity after just a few months of use. I purchased a v3 and will start using it. I live in Ceará, Brazil. What can I expect regarding the toughness of nano ripstop in the first and second year?

@@walmyrn Always a tough question friend! I feel that all wings will wear quite fast with wing foiling as its always wet and in the elements. Best bet is to do your best to keep it out of the sun when not using. From my understanding the changes from v2 to v3 was only New profile, handles, and windows, materials are the same.

Had the 8m Vision for the first time this week at probably less than 10knots. It was like flying without Wind xD.

When I got my hands on the Vision, this was my first thought. If I have both, when would I decide to use each. The 8M vision is my first choice now for light winds. I assume the Apex Mantis 5 and 6M will be my choice when they hit the market for their respective wind ranges. It will be interesting to see which wing people chose on the Vision or Mantis.

I started with the Mantis and it was really grunty and hard for beginners, it was really hard to go upwind and I felt my hands are about to rip off , my friend let me a ride on his F1 strike and I sold the Matis the day after and switch to F1

@@carlossaez3586 V2 or V3 Mantis rock! The V3 handles are incredible......

The Mantis has "heavy bar pressure" compared to other wings because it is less aerodinamic, I mean, the power vector is not pointing as forward than other wings with rigid canopy and "sail profile" . The Mantis (I have two of them) is more like a spinaker because is less tunned. I'd disagree that is a grunty wing (fast power generation in low winds) although it points upwind well because is very flat, it's great for surf because is low weight and low dihedral, etc.

I ´m in vacation on Cabrinah site, i can try every one of then. The wind conditions are amazing. I m use to fly with Duotone, North, takuma. I m sorry but have you tried a really quality wing, I will never buy Cabrinah, handles are creapy , soft. The only one that is not so bad is the Vision 7m.

The Vision doesn't have a compact shape - not really beginner friendly. No S bend strut makes it outdated already Wrinkles at the back edges of the strut in the canopy: rework required

Yep. Why after trying both an X2 (5m) and Mantis v1 (4m) I finally went with the wildly more popular F-One Strike instead. Much better wind range, light but powerful, but never an out of control handful like the Mantis.

The cross wing doesn't come in a X4?

Other than being too heavy with the double strut, it was much easier to use than the Mantis. Easily beaten by the F-One Strike though.

Cabrinha a year ago: - we don't want plastic here so soft handles only! Cabrinha now: - here is our brand new plastic handles.

Guys you could make this video really short if you would just say that Mantis is flat wing( more powerful) and Vision is V-profile wing(more forgiven with power)... Please,be more simple and helpful...😎🤙
