A truly wonderful song, the title is taken from a poster depicting a child killed by Franco's nationalists. The theme of the song is inspired by Welsh volunteers who fought with the International Brigade.

Nationalist is a soft way to say FASCIST. Franco was helped by Hitler and Mussolini. Inn exchange for the international help received, the Spaniards in exile helped to fight Fascism after the Civil War: La Nueve (most of them Spanish men and women soldiers) was the first company to enter in Paris liberation under Le Clerc orders.

A band whose talent has probably been appreciated more now than at the time.

'If you tolerate this then your children will be next' was said by the anarchists in the Spanish civil war to the British and Americans leaders, to stand up the Franco, Mussolini and Hitler. But they were passive. Which meant it was the prerequisite to WW2

Their song Motorcycle Emptiness is really good too, also they do an incredible version of Suicide Is Painless, the theme from M*A*S*H.

It is really great to hear someone reacting to this band and this particular song. This song was my introduction to MSP and now I have a good amount of their discography. My favourite MSP song. I also love 'Ready for Drowning' off the same album. I highly recommend that song - it has a beautiful organ riff and like many of their songs, a great depth of meaning...

My favourite Manic's track. Such a great socialist hymn. Taken from a recruiting slogan, for the Spanish republicans, during the Spanish civil war against the fascist forces of General Franco.

It’s my favorite that I’ve heard of theirs also and that’s why I gave it to Tre here. Never knew that about the lyrics, thank you for that! That is great.

@@mickeyhank I believe, you might have to fact check this tidbit, the slogan appeared after Guernica was bombed by the Germans who were aiding fellow fascists. There's a famous painting by Picasso, called Guernica Night, that depicts the bombing. Just a bit of extra info.

@@happilyeggs4627 a few years ago I had the privilege of meeting a survivor of Guernica at Nottinghamshire County hall. My mum was nearly 5 when the nazis invaded her Norwegian homeland, 80 years ago, and nearly 10 on Defeat of fascism in Europe day, 75 years ago. So I had some idea what suffering fascism inflicts.

@@dlmdee I think you'll be surprised to learn that Hitler was the leader of the National Socialists, better known as Nazis. They were fascists too. Surprisingly they, despite being Socialists, were right wing Socialists. It's not about the movement, but how the movement is subverted. Most of the protesters are not Socialists and would be offended by the tag.

Talking about Welsh Bands, may I suggest you have a look at reacting to Catatonia. I think you'd find them interesting, especially the lead singer's vocals - she can get away with singing any genre very successfully. You could start with 'Road Rage' or 'Mulder and Scully' - their big hits...or go in for a deep dive and have a listen to 'Infantile' or 'Whale' - amongst my personal favourites...
