Took my two girls out to a stock pond. Used a weed eater mowed and cut limbs out of the way the day before. Had them practice at the pond by the house. The big day came and they wore them out. I had one job and failed could not keep the bait coming fast enough lol. We got enough to feed 8 people and had a little left over. These times Nick you will never forget. I caught a trout on a bamboo rod when I was 5. I can remember standing on a grassy sloping bank. Trout almost dragged me in to the water. I threw the rod over my shoulder and walked up the bank dragging the trout out of the water. Epic battle for the ages 😂. 55 years ago. Uncle Leo took me and is gone now but I still have the pic on top of my gun safe on display. I see it every day. My first fish. Thanks Uncle Leo!!!!

I was up at Bud and Mary’s last Sunday, took a nice ride north from BIg Pine Key, bought a shirt and a cap. Hung out with Jamaica Mike and Bean for a while. I've been on a boat fishing since I was 2 weeks old. I started so early that I don't remember my first but I'm sure that Sadie will remember this. I know you will always remember because I remember all 3 of my boys first fish when they were her age. It takes a lot of patience on dad's part to teach them because we have done it so long. You did a great job and so did Charles. Both of you guys need to keep teaching the younger generations. Remember,,,, we taught you at some time. GREAT JOB!!!

I was approximately 1 month from my 4th B-Day... My first fish was a 5lb dolphin. I remember that fish being so much bigger then it actually was. I also learned what a fishtale was that day. Stanzfam, thank you for sharing with us. 😎🤙👍🎣

You mentioned that Sadie gets sea sick. I been fishing most of my life about 79 years and I used to get sick until I discovered ginger capsules, available at any vitamin shop. Completely natural and none of the side effects of Dramamine.

Wonderful memories

I remember the first fish caught for all three of my children, a memory I will never forget. When my youngest daughter was 2 or 3 we would be fishing in our pond in Oklahoma. I had a flat bottom aluminum boat. She would stand in the Styrofoam minnow bucket and laugh hysterically as the minnows swam around her feet. She is now 25 with a baby girl of her own.

I remember fishing off a boat ramp while my dad was catching bait. I did nothing special, just had a piece of shrimp dropped straight down. A couple minutes later a flounder was on and with the help of my dad I reeled it in thinking it was a giant. I was 2 at the time and not many can say that. All I can say is the first fish was a special moment and extremely delicious. Even since then I've devoted my life to the sea. Anyways good luck next time, tight lines man.

My daughter 1st fish at 5yrs old was a 20 inch rock fish on a $10 Barbie rod. My 2nd daughter was 5yrs old and caught a 18 inch Carp on the same rod

Try toasting some panko BC's first.. Brush with Mayo, roll in toasted BC's .. Then pan sear.. Top with a little graded parm. Awesome...
