Miraculous playing ... but then we expect nothing less from the maestro. Such subtlety and delicacy, such infinite precision. Shame about the end of the slow movement though. What happened there that the clarinet is not playing in the closing section and the piano is filling in the clarinet part instead?

It is just me or this piece is very similar to Poulenc Clarinet Sonata?!

Seems like Poulenc sonata influenced this in terms of form. On the other side, I can hear Rachmaninov here, especially in the second part (my opinion off-course). Anyway, this is the masterpiece by great Mangani.

@@omaslo absolutely this is a beautiful composition. I agree with you for the form. More precisely in the third mouvement, the rhythmic mimics 3rd Poulenc Sonata (triplets with accents) and the scales “ff” before long phrases is really sounds Poulenc as well:) The piano part is also in the same ambiance. Pretty sure the composer knows Poulenc clarinet Sonata very well ;)

It is Regretable that the score barely follows this beautiful melody.

This piece is absolutely beautiful and truly a masterpiece...but the cuts in this music are just .....really bad. It would really help the piece if the page turns didn't happen 3 minutes after the page had ended.
