This made me remember one of the most annoying childhood friend scenarios. (It's an Isekai not a romcom but still). In it the MC was actually fairly nice looking but anytime he'd get close with a girl the childhood friend would mention to them how he's a pervert and couldn't help starting at their breasts or skirts and some other stuff. This made her pretty much the only girl he had a relationship with. Stuff happens and she becomes more interested in another guy while still badmouthing him. Later on some girls actually meet him and it's revealed he is nothing like what the CHF described him as. Iirc even later the CHF tricked herself into believing her own lies for her own sake because he was doing better without her and she couldn't accept who he was now. Dark knight hero story / Ankoku Kishi Monogatari on novel updates if anyone is interested. It's not the main plot but some background on their relationship.

@404Kiwi I also read a novel like that here's the title: No More Suffering For This Villain - It's Isekai where the FCHF where the MC is treated as just her backup when she doesn't get together with the "Protagonist" even when the OG soul of the MC was very genuine with his feelings she still took his feelings for granted then when the MC ignores her she started being possessive when he ignored her and started talking to other girls

I was expecting Shoko to do worse stuff, like in other manga videos, where she humiliates him in front of other people, acts cold or ignores him in school or something.
