extremely well said ..... being a Keralite and having heard literally 100s of songs of both these singers till date, I fully support this view . In their budding stages, PJ's voice was bit more attractive than that of KJY. But both the main factors, namely one's on half & GOD's half went in favour of KJY. KJY had that killing instinct to be number one . Again he was lucky too in the form of several factors. But PJ himself emerged as a great all round singer on his own due to his extremely abundant natural talent and of course lots of efforts. No wonder KJY & PJ are the no:1 & no:2 singers respectively as per popular opinion from Kerala. If those 2 main factors went in his favour , it wouldn't have been a surprise at all that PJ would have even slightly surpassed KJY as a complete singer .
