Let's remember the fact that when the Mando's first met the Jedi, they learned about their lighstabers, so in retalations during combat, they stopped using blasters and used slug-throwers-lead firing weapons-so the hot lead would hit the Jedi who blocked the blast.

This is one of the videos that really brought me into the Mandalorian fandom several years back. Looking back, this song really fits perfectly with Mandalorian spirit, culture, and worldview; their sense of honor, their ‘manifest destiny’ (I’m sure there’s an actual Mandalorian term for this), and the slaying of “the dragon”, which sounds eerily similar to the ancient Mythosaurs, whos’ skulls have become among the most recognizable Mando symbols; “no more living in fear, it’s time to raise our king”- in my mind while listening to this, within the context of Mandalorians, the Mandos are in a sort of ‘recession’~ living shameful, ‘fearful’ lives. It is time to raise their Mand’alor (king) once again and take back their rightful place as holy, honorable warriors. It is their destiny.

Mando. That is the term. It represents them, their spirit, their honor, and their home. It is the closest word in their language to "God". Also when you talk about the Mando recession, it makes me think of what Worf said about the Klingons in DS9; how many Klingons beleived they had been at peace for too long as they are warriors and yearn to do what Klingons do; fight and conquer

I'm glad Sabine wasn't involved in the season 2 finale of Rebels, she would have gone after Maul at the start, killing her clan leader!

It amuses me that in the Clone Wars, Death Watch are the only ones fighting for the return of the warrior ways. And yet, in Rebels, Death Watch are called traitors by those that had their warrior ways restored by said traitors...

There's a 15 year difference, in which in Legends a lot happened. Basically, the Protectors are supposed to be the TRUE Mandalorians within Legends. Remains to be seen how that will transfer into current canon.

They are considered traitors because A: They lied and manipulated their people, something that is against Mandalorion way. B: They killed many innocent Mandalorians. Especially many the non military society that Satine had formed. Its more apparent that there were other Mandolorian sects that kept their warrior ways AND didn't butcher the innocent or other Mandos. C: And finally Darth Maul took over the planet, (admittedly through honorable combat) but Death Watch supported the rule of a tyrannical, homicidal, no care for tradition, outsider with "sorcerey". Most of which Mandolorians despise. Thus traitors.

While I agree with you, Zipotricks, Mandalorian armour is generally designed with honour heavily in mind. Nobody would go for the bendy bits such as armpits or whatever, since that goes against honour.

I keep coming back to this amazing AMV every few days now binging all the clone wars until season 7 is finally out

I think the song is from Deathwatch's point of view. They see themselves as "The chosen Ones" and Warriors who fight with honor. But after the death of Duchess Satine and Pre Vizsla, Deathwatch break into two groups, one stay with Darth Maul leading the red and black faction and Bo-Katan takes off with the other half of Deathwatch in the gray and blue outfits, so that means there were two groups called Deathwatch ? Maul soon falls to Darth Sidious's attack leaving Almec running Mandalore but what ever became of Maul's red and black armor clad warriors ? Did they side with Almac or become renegades ? What also happened to "The Night Owls" who have Bo as their leader ? Did they overthrow Almac or join him ? Maybe Mandalore ended up in a civil war over leadership ? Anyways, the song fits Vizsla's way of thinking/seeing himself.

I always thought there would be a battle between the blue Mandalorian Warriors aka Night Owls and the red Mandalorian Commandos aka Death Watch. One side loyal to Darth Maul and the other trying to bring back The New Mandalore ways of Duchess Satine. Maybe in Rebels season 2.

I love the hypocrisy that is shown throughout the song. Like when it says "we fight for honor" and shows the Death Watch killing civilians or Vizla just randomly executing someone. It shows how twisted the Death Watch is, and how self-defeating the entire 'Warrior Mandalor' culture is for Mandalor.

1. GG on failing to understand that an outsider has no right to rule, or challenge, and by doing so you're admitting that a puppet government like satine's had legitimacy. 2. Directly led to the conquest of mand'alor by giving the republic the reason to invade and radicalizing your people to want security, which allowed the republic to be viewed as hero's, as is the DIRECT reason for the empire conscripted mandos in rebels season 3

I wouldn't quite say that the Death Watch were true to the Mandalorian heritage as they claimed. That title goes to the True Mandalorians in my opinion. The Mandalorians of old were warriors, true, but honourable ones. The Supercommando Codex and the Resol'nare - especially the Resol'nare - explain what 'true' Mandalorians would act like. The Death Watch are the result of a perversion of these values, twisted by sociopaths and monsters over generations into what people believe the Mandalorians were. Look up the Mandalorian Civil War, that'll explain it better. It's technically Legends, but it's all we've got right now so it's be best we have to piece it together.

One thing that bugs me about the Pre vs Maul fight: Maul ducking under the flamethrower, why didn't Pre just aim lower? Instant win, or at least a huge advantage. But this Video is great, and perfectly synced.

I feel death watch, although traitors in the past, are the only ones living up to the Mandalorian name. The dutchess is ruining Mandalore and she deserved her fate, for a civilisation of people to be feared galaxy wide and then suddenly a change after the clone wars began is ridiculous. I mean Mandalorians went after the Republic whilst they were fighting the sith & now they can barely stabilise a terrorist attack, wow!. Although the old Mandalorian style is better than the one enforced my the dutchess, I believe that the Clan Visla is a strong clan, after all they have the same armour. Probably a personal desire but I like the Idea of an army to wear the same armour, I mean how much more unique do you want to be than the only army in the galaxy that uses jetpacks in battle. regardless of this, I believe Jaster Mareel & Jango Fett's armour are the best ones out there ( Boba took on jaster's armour after he became a bounty hunter). Relating to this topic, I reckon more Mandalorian media should be portrayed, I mean lucasfilm or Disney idgaf after they were under new management, but anyways we need more Mandalorian games, maybe a film spin off from the original saga, perhaps covering the Mandalorian wars back around the era of jedi civil war or anything Mandalorian that shows us how it is to be a Mandalorian in the galaxy, maybe a separate MMO game where instead of being jedi or sith, you're Mandalorian. It'd bring communities (clans) together and the practice of Mando'a can be implemented. How cool would it be for a Mandalorian game online where all participants speak mando'a... (im still learning mine though)...

The Mandalorian show's hero is apparently part of the remnants of Death Watch, saved by them as a foundling child. Its apparent from the ending of Season one he will someday defeat Moff Gideon and re-claim the Dark Saber becoming the new leader of the Mandalorian people, bringing them back to the old ways.

I find the Mandolorian's to be my favorite culture of all time. I love the language and the way brother and sister respect one another. I love the language most, because it sounds beautiful and embraces sign language like movement when expressing the words projected from one to another.
