What Ten Hag says in the press conference is not for us, it's him trying to appeal to the upper management to save his job, by saying he saw things he liked etc. Because after this, he's not getting hired at any top club ever again. Bayern was exploring the possibility, but they quickly withdrew their interest after that crystal palace loss. But then again, the press conference is considered sacred, it's for the manager to tell the fans what's going on behind the scenes. To use that opportunity for his personal benefit is like hitting the fans across the face.

Why are these “pundits” downplaying United’s injuries so much? In all seriousness, Shaw, Malacia, Martínez, Varane, Maguire, Lindelof, Bruno, Mount, Rashford, Martial are just the tip of the iceberg. Literally all those players are not only out but it’s been the story of United’s season. Why do Newcastle and Chelsea keep getting a free pass for injuries but United don’t? Their best side by far is Onana, Shaw, Martínez, Varane, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Bruno, Garnacho, Rashford, and Hojlund. That side has barely played together this season. And the likes of Maguire, Lindelof, Evans, McTominay, Wan Bissaka, Eriksen, etc are massive drop offs in quality. All those players are bottom of the table quality players.

A homegrown player who was never supposed to see a single minute of action this season and be a practice body. What is the big deal of finishing below 7th place, Arteta has finished 8th 2 or 3 times before but on his 4th season, the team clicked and start to play as what the manager wants them to play. Be fair and give Erik Ten Hag time.

The point is he finished 8th only once. The first one was just having half a season without a window. The second one was when he was cleaning up the squad by selling Ozil, Aubameyang, all the bloated squad. But you are right it's two 8th place finishes and context has to be provided.

They are down to a combination of relegation level players and guys who are wildly playing out of position. Their bench today was virtually all no-name academy players.

Garnacho seems pretty good for a 19 yo but doesn't have the experience to do everything Ten Hag wants from him. He seemed to play better on the right wing in a more supporting role. Has potential anyway and works hard.

I am a Brazil fan & I'm happy that he is not in the Copa America squad.

I have heard about how Man City and Man U have had injuries. Let’s not forget that Real Madrid lost three quarters of their central defence for most of the season. They lost Courtois for the whole season and Vini/Bellingham for stretches of the season.

@@tomnorton7817 Yes the sudden dramatic lost of pace caused that not the individual Quality which oddly was not in evidence last season when he scored many important goals for United to win title and UCL qualification. So it now seems very clear what problems Ten Hag has to face regarding his midfield this season as there isn't a World Class player left to lead. There is no excuse for Ten Hag with his odd decisions but the Main Problem to be fixed first at United is Club Administration and Players Work Culture.

I don't understand the complaint with injuries, teams like a certain Madrid have the same injuries problems....Mendy , militao, courtois, alaba, Bellingham (time to time), and there in the finals..... ten hag is a coach that has been employed to solve or prevent these injuries adjust player game time, get good signings and depth in the squad.... Jonny evans don't look to me like the kind of player that should be the hope when looking at depth of squad. If i go a level low, look at chelsea injuries, but they're higher up that man u at the moment
