I was talking to a guy in town today who as lived in a tent for 7 years ...Because he's not got an address he cannot Claim any benefits ... so I asked him how much he earns a day by sitting in the town centre holding a sign saying please help me. he said between £80and a £150 a day but if you go and sit outside the racecourse you can get up to £500 a day....... He earns more than me tax free🤔... Fair play to him.

I read that if you're at a traffic light and the plods or amberlamps want you to move through the red, then you are liable for a ticket. Basically it's best for you to wait for the green to avoid a fine.

Exactly correct, you are liable, especially if caught on camera. Same as moving into a bus lane, to " Help " the emergency services. If caught, it's on you for doing it. Personally if cameras around, bus lanes etc, and I can't change lanes for example, I'm staying where I am. I'm not getting done for something.
