My little sister died 11 years ago, she was 18 at the time. Andy's music helped me get through it. This was her favourite song, it was played at her funeral. It's such a funny full circle moment, because so many times I didn't think I was strong enough to get through it. But Andy helped make sure I was.

Right?! This should never have been a “pop” song. Cher is a powerful singer, but sometimes less is truly more. Andy nailed this with the emotional discretion it needed and gave it new life by interpreting the lyrics with the gravitas they carry.

Although I'm an Aussie, I only discovered DMA's in the early days of the pandemic - through their awesome lockdown cover of Better Be Home Soon. But your analysis is interesting and maybe I should have appreciated the lyrics more at the time. However, I stand by my assertion that Manchester Orchestra have recorded an outstanding cover and it gives the original a whole new and exquisite interpretation - and probably a whole new audience 🎉 I see you are a musician. Awesome cover, I didn't think anyone could do a better version than Cher herself, but Andy nailed it, this acoustic version gives me goosebumps! I keep listening to it over and over.
