The standards these two teams have pushed each other to in the last five years has taken winning streaks and consistency to a whole new level. Unfortunately although Klopp is a genius he doesn't have the resources Guardiola has which makes it impossible to challenge them every season. It's a sore point of frustration that we Liverpool fans have to live with....for the time being.

I couldn’t agree more - Arsenal are posers in mind and don’t hold a candle to Liverpool. LFC has been the only team that truly made me uneasy (not scared me, but close) while Pep has been manager. I still suffer some ptsd from both games at Anfield 2018: the PL game 4-3 in Jan and then of course the 3-0 CL game and then having to fight tooth and nail year in year out. Clearly I hate LFC but I also have the utmost respect for them and obviously Klopp. Looking forward to this weekend but with a healthy amount of trepidation. May the best team win👍

in terms of footballing ability it has to be top 3 rivalries in the modern era, city have obviously been a top team now since pep joined and liverpool have been a top team whenever they’ve been allowed to spend money, there’s been more heated rivalries over the years but if we look at pure footballing ability this is one of the best ever

Great video! The rivalry btwn Pep and Klopp is something unique and very special as no teams in PL & English history have pushed one another consistently to the levels of achievement like LFC & City. I still suffer from some ptsd years after the back to back defeat at Anfield in 2018 for both the PL & CL games. Watching it here brought all right back - thank you. Lol As much as I dislike LFC, I respect them more as they are truly the only team that has consistently worried me every year and in every competition. I find it borderline laughable that the news media talk about Arsenal being our rivals and how they pushed us all the way last year. Absolute nonsense. Compared to LFC, Arsenal are posers. I get you're more fearful of Liverpool than us and I get why but remember if it weren't for us last season, even if we did bottle it in the end there would be no title race in the first place as Liverpool fell off that year. We might even see three horse race this season and whether you like it or not we will probably be in that mix. We may not win it but its not ALWAYS gonna be city or Liverpool forever! Yes you had a great rivalry with MU for what, 5yrs when it was MU and Arsenal going head to head? City and LFC have been at it since 2017/18 and going into our 7th season. Not to mention, the level of footballing performance wrapped with achievement has never been seen before and not just in the PL era, but all of English top flight history. LFC are the only team in the history of English top flight football that amassed more than 90 points on multiple occasions and still failed to win the league - each time losing by a point 98 to 97 and 93 to 92. Not sure if this is correct, but up until LFC hit 99 points in the 2019/20 season, they had the second most points in a season in English history at 97 and still lost the league. To be fair, the way Arsenal were through about the end of March/early Apr, had they kept that up the whole season, then yes you'd be legit and in the convo with LFC, but you'd need to keep up that performance this year and its far from it. Remember, LFC and City have been ultra high level for multiple seasons. Playing at that level, which you def did for the majority of last season is not the same thing. But it could happen this year...

Shows how little you know man that rivalry at its peak was between 1997-2005 so much more than 5 years. Level of footballing performance based on what how many points both your teams achieved? Ok cool but what about the genuine passion and hatred our teams had between fans and on the field? All I see between city and Liverpool rivalry is 2 managers that are pally pally and friendly... WAY too friendly not like wenger and ferguson who always got into spats! Trying to compare 2 very different rivalries and making out the city and Liverpool one is better to me is just laughable honestly but if that's your opinion... I just disagree respectfully. Regarding our performances this season well I agree we aren't playing as well but it seems because we've sacrificed our attacking threat to defend in games better which we lacked last season but that's all the more reason why I think we need a striker desperately. But we'll just have to see how sustainable our football is but fergie once said attack wins you games and defence wins you titles which is very true.

In 17 18 it utd and city were the 2 best. in 20 21 it was utd and city and in 22 23 it was arsenal and city. So it's not some domination by Liverpool and city. Its just city dominating against different teams but liverpool are the ones that generally make it the hardest for them

Forgot to mention that without the 115 FFP violations, City would be nowhere near Liverpool’s level.

Well, Everton admitted to theirs, Chelsea reported the issues themselves. But we (City) are saying that we have evidence to get cleared of all charges. If it happens that we get found guilty on only a few number of those, then the punishment should match that. What's most important here is for you, opposing fans and the league to understand that expelling us would have huge consequences for everyone. It could mean the end of the league as we know it. You have to consider who we are. We're Englands powerhouse. The highest earning football club in the world and we're drawing in million upon millions and earning insane amounts for the league aswell. If we get found guilty based on illigally obtained emails, that can be easily altered provided by a criminal who's in prison for briebing and blackmailing people, then all hell brakes loose. No court of law in the modern world would accept that as sufficient evidence. And there goes 90% of the evidence they have. City will take this to the highest court of law they can and we're just as rich as the Pl, probably richer - and add to that, our owners have given the British government billions upon billions. This could end in a defamation lawsuit and no corporation, foundation, privately owned company can live with a deficit that large. Remember this, the saudis own the world and football is all money. Money talks and it does matter! I don't think alot of you are really thinking this one through.

The ucl Qt final lost will always stink. City were totally outclass playing at home + some error by the referee add up to the salt. Shame cause that team could went on further.

He streets will never forget this iconic rivalry that lasted almost a decade. The level of football and intensity is unmatched the Title Races were ruthless. The many sleepless nights i suffered and anxiety I've felt over the years i can never forget. Time flew by so quick. I still feel tired to this very day! My admiration goes to Klopp and his Liverpool team(i hated them atcthe time 😆) they pushed us to the wire and so did he in return. Im so relieved and glad it was us who won this competitive rivalry in the leqgue 6>7. This rivalry pushed this Man City side to becoming the greatest side in English football history todate. Pep and his Man City team are simply the best. 💯

Don’t think there was ever a period where both teams were dominant. When Liverpool were at their peak in the 70s and 80s, Utd didn’t really win much. And then during fergie’s years, Liv had that 30 years without a league title

As an American, I have been on a 16 year hiatus when it comes to football. Last time i remember watching Steven Gerrard winning the UCL back in 2005. Its crazy to see how much winning my team has done in the last 5 years. I feel bad for Man Utd though it is strange to not see them as good as they used to be.

This is is spoiled by yet another 12:30 start for Liverpool that has 5 of their starters from outside of Europe
