Seems to be the norm with the stadiums in the EPL some of the big clubs having 60,000 plus capacity stadiums and Man City are no different in increasing their capacity to over 60,000

What do I think,? everything Man City do is for good reason. Best run club in football. Five of the last six premier League titles, Only English premier League treble winners this century. Only ever Centurions. One of the top average crowds in England. Something for the jealous ones, We will only get better. Drink it in.😂😂😂

Im a city fan and i think the plans are great, the stadium will be full as we get a lot more day trippers now like United and Liverpool. I've got a feeling they will make the new north stand a slightly cheaper area and try to entice everyone out of the south stand up there and reconfigure the away fans. The hotel and hospitality stuff will be a welcome addition, its all linked to the new arena aswell people attending events there will use the hotel. The current city square was getting very tired and needing redoing. All this will eventually pay for itself and bring revenue into the club to keep building. People love to whack city but theh know they would love it their club was doing this.

The roof joint from the previous expansion work is not smooth. The expansion work that is starting now does not solve the asymmetry of the stadium. Are the club and the designer considering these parts? The stadium of Man City has no sense of unity.

Think a lot of the funding is coming from the owners

Dead easy for the casual football supporter to get tickets now, my son and several of his workmates none of whom are City fans regularly go. I bet you can’t do that with any other top flight club. It would be great though to see the ground expansion as it would be an asset for English football in general.

Love the bitter comments here. Our owners bought the club for just over £100m then invested £2bn into it and it's now worth in excess of £4bn That is a sound investment. So if our owners decide it is viable to extend the stadium at their own expense (1 that they measly rent) then I'll go with their financial shrewdness I think

Hi mate, I think the hotel could be a way to be included in some sort of hospitality package, at the end of the day weather your a utd fan City fan Everton fan whatever, football clubs these days are driven by money, and if there’s a way for money to be made that feasible they are going to make it happen

@thestadium00 the overall architectural design is ugly if your idea of a hotel attached to a perfect looking stadium then making it odd shaped then fair dos but you dont support manchester city so you have no idea any hotel away from the ground would be a lot better and still provide match day ££££ hospitality experience Just as they use the local Thai restaurant as a match day experience it's just not pleasing to the eye at all for me

It’s not down to UEFA or FA, the planning permission first needs to be backed and passed by the local council, they look at a number of factors for example Anfield has very close residential houses near it so they have to look at each proposal individually, but rubbish but that’s the way they do it, and it’s probably why Everton haven’t expanded and moved instead
