I had a perforated eardrum repaired and cholesteatoma surgery 2 1/2 years ago in NJ. Last week I had revision Tympanoplasty surgery. The little devil grew back. Both of my surgeries were absolutely painless. The 1st surgery was done behind the ear and the 2nd thru the ear canal. As far as I’m concerned, pain is not an issue. You will have the best possible sleep. In a few hours you will get up and walk out the door, and I’m no spring chicken!

I just had my tympano mastoidectomy 6 days ago and have experienced the most unbearable tinnitus in my life. I did go for a 2 mile walk today so I think I'll refrain from doing that again for the next 30 days. The tinnitus is like the highest pitched fog horn being shoved in my ear. I now know what it's like when people say they went insane. If this is my new normal I won't be on the planet much longer.

Today im getting tympony plasty surgery for my left ear i have both ear drums ruptured so will be doing the left side first i did a ct scan and the doctor had asked me which ear gives me the most problems i told him my left ear... so he told me lets do the left ear first... also told me that the ct scan that was done for my both ears that my left ear i started to develop chronic infection... im not feeling nervous or scared i know everything will come out good hoping for the best ... how ever he told me there is a risk factor .. since we have a nerve behind our ears that controls our facial muscles that if that nerve was to get damaged that my face could be paralyzed... i got bit scared when he told me that but he assured me that . rarely happens and that the surgery will be 100% good ive been dealing with this since i was a kid bad ear drainage and sometimes i couldn't hear correctly... other times i heard super loud i would feel uncomfortable so i finally decided to go for the surgery ill keep yall updated

@@mrstabriz8105 I'm doing fine my hearing is getting better I'm still recovering surgery was a success it isn't that bad had pain for like 1 week and a half ... taking ibuprofen Tylenol and some antibiotics that the doctor had prescribed me.. he told me my left ear had alot of infection inside my bone was reconstructed since the infection was spreading already... I have a follow up appointment on January... to have an audiology done to see how my hearing has improved... I still need my right ear done and I'll be 100% good .. when I got the surgery I would wake up at 2 am or 3am with higher fever it might be different from everyone... my head was swollen from the side then it went back to normal like in 4 days... also where the incision was made behind my ear it was bleeding I just put a cotton ball on the back of my ear... I couldn't clean my incision since the doctor put bandages that has medicine.. on it so no cleaning the wound since I didn't get stitches .. it's not that bad the surgery only takes like 45minutes all I remember was going inside the surgery room laying down and breathing in the anesthesia.. after that I just went striaght to sleep didnt even feel anything until I woke up and the anthesia slowly started going away then I would start feeling pain .. from 1-10 the pain was a 5 since I was taking ibuprofen then taking Tylenol switching one day ibuprofen and other days Tylenol... had to sleep striaght to no sleeping on my side to avoid the swelling to get big... also they had put a tube down my throat so when I came back home my throat was soar for 3 days after that it went back to normal... I was on a liquid diet since u couldn't really chew since my jaw bone was hurting.. so I only ate crackers with chicken soup 🍲 no meat at all just the soup water.. along with veggies.. my jaw bone hurted for like a 1 week and a half to.. after that it slowly started getting better.. I was off for 3 weeks from my work place I went back after my 3 weeks was over so it's not that bad at all to get this surgery... if your having problems with your ear like ear drainage or your ear drums are ruptured id say go for the surgery you won't regret it... you'll be feeling good in no time.... I also felt my ear super numb .. right now it's getting better as well.. feeling little but of numbness...

@@AbiikarYare yes I'm ok 👍 I have a follow up appointment on January 26 there going to do an audiology test for my hearing I feel better slowly my hearing is getting better... it really isn't that bad tho but there are those risks that I mentioned it all depends on the doctors experience... you'll be fine surgery takes less than 45minutos or so you go to sleep and wake up like nothing happened... as long as you take your medications and antibiotics you'll be fine in less than a week and a half I was already doing good ... but right now I can't do no exercises no running or lifting heavy things ... until I go to my follow up appointment... then im going to see when my right ear will be operated since both ear drums are ruptured but my left ear is now recovering.. after surgery you'll have a headband ..in 2 weeks or so you'll go back to the hospital they'll remove the head band and gauze that's stick inside the ear that part is bit painful since it's stuffed inside then when that's done you start to use the ear drops... in about a week or so you go back again and the doctor who operated you will then remove the foam that's inside the ear with an air compressor... its not the best feeling in the world when that procedure is done... feels nasty ... and also bit pain full when the foam is removed once the foam is removed you'll hear everything super loud.. which is normal and your ear will feel numb but that gets better over the months my ear felt really numb but now it's feeling better the numbness is going away already.. you'll also hear poping sounds once the foam is removed that's normal since the air is going inside the ear I had popping sounds for like a week I still hear couple popping sounds but not as much as before so it's good
