the way it should be. Real and shared. The things that make a vtuber a person outside the company add to the depth of the character in a way that character writing cannot. Within in reason, I think talents should be allowed to share personal traits and such from day one. Hell, as things stand, XD most of the Holofans know who is factually well endowed, who is factually shortest (to a degree), etc etc etc, just from talents talking about one another in very limited capacity on streams. It would be important to keep stuff out of that loop though but I think it would be fine as long as some standards are put in place to limit what CAN be shared. Speaking from having been a smoker, (been nicotine free for about 3 years now) I would have found some common ground with Raden in the fact that she smokes irl and likely watched her more.

I'm more surprise that it's the overseas bros that seem to have more problems with her than the jp bros. With covers track record as the best among all other agencies I have no problem as long as the talents are properly vetted, trained and their needs taken care of. It's not a good look to any agency when graduations or huge dramas happen frequently.

It was a good idea to just let her be herself and not try to hide her behaviors because given the size of Hololive's fan base you just KNOW at some point it would've slipped out somewhere and then be clipped and then people might hold it against her as opposed to just owning it right from day one. There's also a reason why Raden is the most popular member of REGLOSS and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that she's just so different from not only the other REGLOSS girls but also pretty much every talent in Hololive. Aside from the smoking and gambling I think Vtuber that immediately sprung to my mind when I saw her personality would have to be Salome-san from Nijisanji.

Raden is such a breath of fresh air... ironically enough, LOL! These days people are SUPER moralistic, which seems strange, but it's true. Everybody is so careful not to show the "wrong" kinds of vices. Oh, you're a shut-in? Oh, you look at da booba? Oh, you eat terrible food and/or are overweight? That's fine, even endearing. You smoke? HORRORS. It's like there are certain vices that are the scapegoats for all of the OTHER vices. We are socially allowed to browbeat people with THOSE vices, but not any other vices. So it's like Raden mostly shrugs off those extremely common social stigmas, good on her. Sure, I would love to see her overcome these vices -- just as I would be glad to hear about anybody overcomes the other vices I mentioned -- but embracing and accepting and especially enjoying people how they are right now feels really good.

There are several arguments over how much each individual can control their eating habits, due to genetics or upbringing, but smoking is something you are not predisposed to doing; meaning while many have moved away from brow beating over weight people and rather brow beating the companies pushing it, the smoking companies were literally brow beat into putting pictures of cancerous tumors, dead babies and all manner of other consequences onto the packaging they sell... so then it transfers to the individual, if you smoke you are not only knowingly declining your own health but potentially those around you as it's a gaseous form of cancerous substance Which is why people are brow beat over it, it's something that you not only don't need to do, it's either your decision or mistaken encounter with it that causes the addiction despite all the measures that people have painstakingly put into place to try to prevent people from starting Personally I grew up with both parents smoking, thankfully not inside the house or directly around us, and one of the two is already dead from throat cancer at 58, while the other has early onset of COPD (essentially where your lung capacity gets so bad you can no longer breath without assistance) and they are still smoking, even more heavily than they had been before the diagnosis... It's not a moral issue, it's just people fucking tired of watching people die for no reason as well as watching them suffer hack and cough before they go out for their next smoke

I'm happy that Cover allowed her to be herself without having to hide her habit. I mean imagine having the audience found out much later on by accident or something, the backlash would be pretty severe... So being opened and frank from the get go so that she can be accepted in the long run is much better. Still, in my honest opinion regards her smoking habit, I would love for her to quit, if only for her own health and especially her ability to sing, but I'm definitely not going to hound and berate her about it.

Smoking in Asia is massive, and Japan especially even among the women. As far as I know Irys said and used to smoke but doesn’t anymore. Considering the number of openly weight conscious girls in Hololive, plus the average age of them all to be in the late 20s early 30s, I expect no less than half of them to be smokers.

Ironically problem child is always popular, cuz they have that crazy energy and people love to watch them. Although, there is a limit until it is too much, Raden is just perfectly under that limit. Also, does all hololive member get a different manager? While I do think some manager do eventually move away, and there is a dedicated one for the group. But if not, that's over 50+ managers...

Raden is the perfect figurehead for Dev_Is. She’s entirely different than everyone else in Hololive and Dev_Is in that she’s not trying to be a character or a conventional vtuber steamer. She’s authentically herself, and her streams are her just telling stories about herself or the things that interest her. And that alone is enough to bring in the viewers.

It's so funny seeing people losing it because the clipper wrote "he", to talk about her manager. 1. As far as I can hear she didn't actually explicitely revealed her manager's genre here. It's just a random translation choice from mr clipper. 2. They do have male managers. Matsuri talked about having a male manager and that some other can accept to have one too, on stream AFTER the Mel incident. Everything you heard about "rules changed" is misunformation. It's just that the girls will never go out of their way to reveal that their manager is a man.
