Man v Field - Metal Detecting UK: Saxon Hammered Coin plus other Medieval Coins and Artefacts
An absolute cracking day. We was buzzing to get back to metal detecting a field that had a lot of promise. It was slow and steady but it was worth it!
Keep the remote nearby as there is a little bit of wind noise. AND, yes I know, the coin is not Richard III, it’s Henry III :)
Find of a lifetime, with a coin on Saxon King of Mercia, Offa along with coins of Henry I, Henry III and Edward I. We also unearthed some rather unique and wonderful finds on what appears to be reported as a small early medieval monastic site.

cracking saxon, your voided short cross could be last 10yrs of Henry 2nd, richard, john or start of henry 3rd spreads from 1180 -1247

lots of early finds there, a great experience unearthing these objects. will be returning next year all being well.

I know what you mean .My permission is ready and it had pots in it and I just didn't get change to detect it last Monday it's so annoying !
