Bing watching your episodes now, subscribed today! The Large Bronze Coin: Sestertius of COMMODUS 180-192 ad. They can be very difficult to tell apart from his father Marcus Aurelius with the wear on the edge lettering. What I can see: on the left of his head NVS and on the right I can see COM.. though the c is light, but it lines up perfectly with the legend (M ANTONI)NVS COM(MODVS AVG). The more you stare at it-knowing these letters-you can actually start to see the rest of the letters too... so it looks like you have a sestertius of Commodus with ROMA on the reverse wearing crested corinthian helmet, holding winged victory and spear. Hope this helps! Awesome find!

Wow what cracking romans again!!! You should try for permissions near me , I found a interesting I suppose you'd call it roman b Road , I won't state where though on public eye lol

I have a roman field the same, loads of pottery a silver denarius and five fibulas but no other coins apart from hammered, and then other fields loads of grots and broochs, half the fun guessing what’s going on, great video👍

Yeh it’s a weird on. This site was producing early stuff when there was leas coinage, that’s my theory. I did start getting the odd coin but now it’s seeded so’i’ll have to wait.

That was a great video. I really enjoyed it. I just wish we had the history that you do here in Australia. I have detected on the North Queensland goldfields & I've dug many many English coins & its always a high point for me. Again great video.

When you found the sestertius you missed a fossil about 200 to 66million years old. It’s called a devil’s toenail. Have a close look it’s just to the front of the sestertius.

Appreciate you popping by :) I use Deus on 5.2 with 11” X35 coil. I use ‘Garys Hot’ program and adjust it down to 16khz. If really quiet I up the sensitivity to 94.

Look into the Garret range, probably 200i or the Minelab Vanquish. There's also the Simplex to consider. Avoid the 'Go-Find' range like the plague. Don't get a cheap detector as in this game poor tools will put you off.

do you have any reccomendations for metal detectors under £200 in the uk

Hi buddy. Just reading some comments but I recommend the Quest Q20 or Quest range detectors. Bought my brother one. These can find deep targets and have auto ground balance etc. I have a Garrett AT Max and I was very impressed with the Quest Q20. The cheaper Quest X10 is said to be good too. Check out 'addictedtobleeps' Quest videos. He reviewed a few of them.

also what do you do with the stuff you find and how do you ask for permision to metal detect where ever it is

I just go knocking on doors. I keep some items and give a few bits to the landowner. If it's 'treasure' then I follow the Treasure process.
