Hate is a great thing in football rivalries. I’m 57 years old. Chelsea v Leeds is also a massive old rivalry. Was always a lot of fan aggro and hooli action in the 70s & 80s. Fkn brilliant. What Britain is all about. What it’s built on. A good punch up. That’s why we’re one of the greatest countries on the planet. Anyone who thinks different can fk off.

As a United fan for 12 years now, my earliest memory of us facing Leeds was when we got knocked out in a fa cup tie at Old Trafford. Back then I never really understood the fierce rivalry, but this video has completely changed that. Top video mate!

Im a Liverpool fan but first I believe only Liverpool and Man United are the only heated rivalry but after watching the video Man United got a more worse heated rivalry with Leeds United there is no respected between those two clubs

I would condemn anyone that mocks the death of a fan or players, regardless of the club. I'm a United fan; a proud red for twenty-five years, but I never want to be associated with the kind of fans that hold up banners ridiculing someones death, and I imagine it's the same for yourself, when you hear your own fans singing songs about death and tragedy.

I take it your on about the Galatasaray game in Turkey? when Leeds lads were stabbed. Always a daunting place to go that place was anyway. Welcome To Hell banners they used to have and turks running round with Kebab knives. Chelsea went through exact same thing but smashed the turks 5-0 over there.

Years ago when we were still in the top flight we were getting hammered at home by man utd and parts of the ground started sing the aeroplane song mocking the deaths of the busby babes. I sang it too. As soon as i'd shut my mouth i felt a deep sense of shame and regret. I never sang it again. I think i grew up at that game.... You'd be hard pressed tp hear it now. Ultimately football fans are all the same, we are human beings and all fans should recognise that.

When it becomes a personal attack, rather than a football related chant, that's a problem for me. We all get carried away sometimes, but for me, when I see grown men frothing at the mouth, whilst standing with their kids, it isn't really about the game anymore.

As an Arsenal fan, I always enjoyed watching Leeds back in the day. A tough team who were always so tactically brilliant in all areas. It’s a shame what ended up happening with them spending so many years in the lower divisions, their fans deserved much better but I’m glad they’re back where they belonged. They’ve got a good team with a class gaffer in Bielsa. Cheers to Leeds, I may not like them but I do respect how far they’ve risen

About time Leeds got promoted. A rivalry and a team which really should be in the top division.

they were the best side i ever saw under Revie always hated them because they were that good. Leeds never had a weakness in any position and always had cover when injuries hit them. If you tried to out play them they would rub your noses in it ...if you tried to be as hard as them they would murder you,,,almost. As Jimmy Greaves once said about Leeds they would kick you in the tunnel there way of saying hello. Welcome back we have missed you.

I can only assume your either not from Manchester, or are only young or, haven't been on an away trip to Ellend rd. I've watched United home and away for years including numerous trips to Anfield and nothing comes close to Leeds. United and Liverpool have a mutual (unspoken) respect for each other. That respect isn't present with Leeds. It's sheer hatred. Your probably a southerner or from somewhere other than Manchester hence you won't understand. I'm from Manchester and my view is commonly shared .

Your assumption that everyone will understand your reference to "united" as meaning Man U demonstrates the arrogance that fuels much of the hatred. There is more than one united and this video is about Leeds United.

Great video - clearly a labour of love that took a lot of work. I'm a United (Manchester) fan and it's brilliant to see this rivalry covered in such detail. It's been mostly dormant for 15 years now but before the Liverpool and even City rivalries became what they now are, this was always Manchester United's fiercest rivalry. Hopefully Leeds will be back in the top league fairly soon and the fun can begin again.

My older brother is a massive leeds fan, and he reccomend that I watched this. Can I just say, what an amazing video, thank you for making it, was incredible. From a Man Utd fan from Ireland #Respect 💚

As someone who started watching premier league in 2008, I had no idea about this rivalry. Really looking forward to see what leeds brings to the league.

Leeds United v Manchester United two big cities in the north of England always a fierce rivalry. The early 90s it was at its peak when we pipped them to the title in 91-92 but then gave Eric Cantona to them the year after the rest is history but have to say Man Uniteds 1994, 1999 and 2008 teams were incredible pains me to say it but they were outstanding. see you next season 🤞🤞🤞

Leeds United played great football while I was growing up when they reached the Champions League semi-final under the guidance of David O'Leary but unfortunately lost to Valencia. Mark Viduka, Robbie Keane, Alan Smith, Harry Kewell, Lee Bowyer, Jonathan Woodgate, Rio Ferdinand, Ian Harte... such a terrific squad.

As a Man U fan I loved this, gave a really fantastic background to a rivalry I only found out about less than a year ago. I'm glad you didn't skip over the non rivalry results to give context as to how each club faired over the years. You could've mentioned how well Leeds did in the late 90s and early 00s though, it makes it seem like they were just journeymen but they killed it back then! Regardless it was a superb documentary, well done friend :)

Fantastic. One of the fiercest rivalries, on the pitch and on the terraces and it can and regularly has turned very ugly and that's something Sky Sports and the like failed to recognise. Really enjoyed it and glad it put every inch of the rivalry on show, good or bad.

From the days Scotland produced the backbone of every English team. Oddly, many of the Scots played for both. Jordan, McQueen, Strachan, Graham. As a kid in the 70s I followed every Scot in England. So Leeds and Utd featured a lot in my interest. I met Martin Buchan a couple of years ago at a dinner (MU cpt and Scottish). A nicer, more accommodating man you could not meet. spoke to me and my sister for about 20 mins - and I mean spoke. Was engaging and genuinely pleased to chat about what we remembered about him. The tributes to Mr Norman Hunter were similar. A legend from another time, like Buchan, who only wished to indulge his fans when they met him. Don't make them like Hunter anymore. Was a great player, not just a clogger. RIP to him. Been a hard time for Leeds fans this last few months. Here's hoping they make it back to the EPL - From a Rangers fan who watched Gary Mac volley that corner into the net after about a minute!!!! :):)

Meeting leeds was always my favorite of the "rival" games.. Was always a hard fought battle from both sides

Superb. Well balanced history and hopefully the future has Leeds returning to the top of the game!

As an 11 yr old living in Nth Wales my Leeds born dad & I grabbed a lift off a workmate & wife of his to Old Trafford for the Man Utd vs Leeds Utd match on St Davids day 01/03/78. Because of our travel arrangements we stood together in the Stretford end which was lucky for me as I can still remember to this day the near post header from a corner which Allan Clarke scored the only goal of the game. That evening Mufc's new signings Joe Jordan & Gordon Mcqueen were unveiled but due to contracts were not permitted to play. I've never seen a video of this goal & the 2 Mufc fans refused to speak the 70 miles home but I was buzzing.

Football without rivalries is nothing. Hope you lot come up and play each other next season - United fan

wow!,..this is on another level..took my time to watch and oh my, the rivalry us something. I'm an Arsenal fan since 2002 and I don't have good memories of Leeds esp. Viduka and Jimmy Floyd.. I hope they strengthen and stay up. Leeds do have quite a few rivals in the EPL...Man utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.. those should be classics

I’m red but I admire somewhat (I have a good friend who is a sufferer). And as a football coach, Bielsa is the man to watch! Hope you get up soon and do well with Bielsa (as long as United beat you...). Fantastic video this! One of the best football videos I’ve seen!

Well wrote for a Man Utd fan. I hope, since I'm on the opposite side, to beat you in a deserved way, I mean a fair game, with not so many hits (but not as a dance club, after all we're rivals), and the winner take it all, with no crying people. To cry is for babies.

Thank you @LUFCLewis. ManUtd fan here. Your video has brought back so many memories. When Leeds were relegated from the Premier league 16 years ago, it was bittersweet. I remember the likes of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Mark Viduka, Harry Kewell, Alan Smith, Robbie Keane and the free kicks of Ian Harte among others! I hated them but at the same time I felt sorry because historically they deserve to be in top Tier. They are bigger than City in my regards. Glad to see a big club such as Leeds United back up. Looking forward to see both united, well united!
