Why are you down? I thought Arteta brought the +ve Ponies vibes and Rainbows back to Arsenal and this is ''the time'' we are giving him. Wonderful -3 goal difference there; ooh, what a way to spend £150mn mm? Great 'times'.

We need a striker that's more skilled on the ball and creative for himself outside of the box. The issue with Auba is that he only scores when he's given great service, and that doesn't fit the natural style of the players around him well. Not to mention he hasn't taken his chances. That's why Laca has consistently fit better than Auba over the past year and a half. It's time for change.

Couldn't agree more! Auba has become more complacent after signing his new contract. I think he knows he is the star man being the captain of the club but having that position means nothing if you can't maintain it. At the moment, he is not doing himself any favours by not pushing harder or showing more bravery when he has his chances. For these reasons alone, it is time for him to step aside and give Laca a go because we all know how hard Laca tries, and his hold up play is quite fascinating.

@@jjt7973 I disagree on the idea of complaceny. Without Ozil and Mikhitaryan chances created have dropped. Ozil was creating more chances in one game than others in 10 games. Crosshots are not so easy to convert. Playmakers make perfect weighed passes that even grandmas can finish. People are obsessed with pace and power but football is a technical game at the end of the day

Arteta has to change the system to accommodate Tierney and Martinelli. They don't slot in that easily in the current formation unless we drop Nuno and Saka.

Auba is the type of player that feeds on his confidence to put out performances. So it is no wonder that he will not perform these days because his confidence is at rock bottom. I don’t know why Arteta doesn’t see that. What he needs is some time on the bench to remove the pressure and come in as sun for easy games so he can rebuild his confidence.

Was watching aubamayang yesterday when we were in possession and he just hides, we passed the ball to the left and he goes and stands behind a defender on the right, we pass the ball to the right and he goes and stands behind someone on the left, he never gives an option in the final third and in the system he needs to, it's like playing with 10 men. Some people will say he doesn't get enough chances but one of the reasons he doesn't get many chances is because isn't involved, he should be dropping in, feeding the wingers then getting on the end of crosses etc but he just doesn't it's not his game.

Yep. Compare him to Martinelli. Martinelli always runs into space, asking for the ball. The Newcastle goal was because of him running into the space between the CB and LB. He creates his own space. He doesn't just wait for something to happen. Auba on the other hand, has been really sloggish this season. I don't know if it's because the system of play has changed or Auba himself just doesn't have the desire to find those spaces.

Arteta should consider playing Martinelli Saka and Laca upfront and Emile Smith behind them. Martinelli should be the ultimate striker that boy is a killer striker

If Arsenal didn't stop playing,if they played 15-20 mins more like that,we could have killed the game,you don't get chances everytime,when you see opportunity,grab it

We all know if Man utd scored that first goal with the Arsenal goal keeper injured he wouldn't hear the end of it. These guys and especially Ty would be screaming cheats.

Attack is the best form of defence. The other team cannot score, if we have the ball, whether they be Newcastle or Man City. Arsenal should consistently be applying the "Positive Possession Retention" style of play, throughout the game. That means, keep safe possession, as you constantly seek through ball opportunities, execute the through ball if you find one, then try to finish clinically, and repeat. No dropping off if you score a goal, unless its at the very end of the game. Attack is the best form of defence, if you can score once, you can score more. Use the momentum of confidence you get from scoring, to go for more, with Positive Possession Retention. And Arteta should pick the best in-form players that can execute it, even if half the team is made up of players from the Academy. Being Loyal to out-of-form players that can't help the team WIN BIG, no matter the opponent, will cost Arteta his job. Arsenal fans are not like Man Utd fans, as long as our team keeps winning big, we will not care less if Auba and Partey are not even in the squad. No player is above the team.

I know auba is not firing nowadays due to lack of confidence currently but fairly is not getting much service from our midfielders especially from odegaard who has being oflate being given chance to start to do creativity to feed Auba

What was missing today was the ability to vary play going forward to keep the opposition defence guessing . Nobody was willing to just have the occasional go from just outside the box. We are too predictable and one dimensional going forward.

THANK YOU JAMES for bringing up the NO PENALTY on Tomiyasu. Biggest gamechanger for us IMO granted would we make the pen idk, but still. Martinelli and Ødegaard are the future for Arsenal, obv behind/with SAKA & EMILE SMITH ROWE. Give us a proper striker and we're back.

70m spent in January on a ST and I would say we're odds on to get back into UCL. If we decide to wait until the summer, then we shall have to hope our home record sees us sneak into 6th.

Difference between having your senior players be game winners and good players. Auba, Partey are good players on their day. Ronaldo and Fernandes are game winners that can play mediocre and still come up with goals. Until we recruit absolute ballers we will continue to lose this type of game. Feels bad man.

I'd play Martinelli in place of Auba. They have kinda the same playstyle, pacey strikers running in behind from the sides. But Martinelli proved in this game and the last game that he is more passionate, more clinical, faster and smarter at finding those spaces. If ESR and Saka can become a first eleven, why can't Martinelli? Our problems isn't the youngsters. It's the seniors.

We actually need two strikers roles with midfield wingers. Won't matter who we get, if you post him up top and play two attacking wingers then possess the ball into the top third it becomes pretty clear where you are going in your attack.

I believe we are now technically capable but just need to work on fitness. Partey doesn’t help being injured and unfit and Aubameyang form is shocking even when he was scoring. The solution is simply to drop Aubameyang for a couple games and Partey needs to work on his fitness. Bring in Martenelli for Auba, Saka right, Pepe left, Esr attacking midfield. Don’t play Eddie or lacca and get replacements in January. Bring Ballogun on the bench. Sorted.

Bullshit. Arteta is doing the best he can. Bad man management? Look at how Smith Rowe has developed under him. Look at how long it took Klopp to assemble a winning team and how many players he had to replace to do it. Arteta can't help it that help that he doesn't have all the players he needs. We finally had 1 good window while teams like city&chelsea have great windows every season or 2. Don't confuse this squad with Chelsea where a Tunchel can go in and make us instant success.
