After landing at JFK in December, we spent several minutes on a Jetblue plane waiting on the door to be opened. We were informed there was some issue which ground staff had to come and rectify. At least we were safely on the ground.😊

The door was unlocked but it was jammed meaning it refused to open as when you unlock the door the lights shut off in the bathroom

I fix aeroplanes. I've been in the same situation for 15 mins. I can immediately see the bi-fold door is folded outwards a little bit. It's because the door damper is loose, causing the door to bend outwards and trapping the locking latch. When that happens, it is very difficult to slide back the locking latch. What you DO NOT want to is kicking and prying. As long as the door latch is stuck, it does nothing. What you want yo do is bring the door inwards a little so that it is level and flush. That way the locking latch will not be stuck. Then you can release the locking latch much more easily. When thats done, report to the cabin crew.

He called it a lavatory. First time I have seen that😂

Something similar happened to me when i was younger. I got locked in a greyhound bus bathroom. Turns out you had to turn off the light first before the door could unlock lol.
