Just today was at a sale. The guy said everything is extremely cheap and it was. He had good stuff, a lot was old/new stock. I asked how much the blankets and comforters were he said a quarter. I was at a tote that had them sitting in and in front of and had already started making a pile when a lady started to pick thru as if I wasn't there. I looked at her and said I'm taking those she said oh you are. She knew and she had already pillferred thru them and didn't take one or ask. Not my problem I grabbed them, then asked. besides the guy said cheap she knew it was a great deal cuz they were new with tags. Same thing with the table full of light bulbs I asked how much they were. There was every kind imaginable. He said a quarter each even for flood lights or he'll go down to 10 cents each if you by them all. They're still in package. I said I'll take them all. That same lady heard and came over and started to take some. I'm like again mam I'm buying those. She followed me the whole way.

i understand the guy saying back up... some people are to aggressive... ive been going through a tub before when someone would come up shoulder to shoulder and start grabbing things almost out of my hand... ive even had people try and grab things out of my cart at thrift store... many times i wanted to say back up...

Yeah some people around here are so desperate that I’ve had that happen to me before, so many times lately too I’ll be digging in a box and someone will see that’s it’s something of interest, jewelry, games, hats, toys, whatever, and they always try to join in while I’m looking in the tote or box. I always just slide the box closer to me or farther away from them, most of the time they get the hint. Funny enough the other weekend I had a guy buy all of the records out from under me while I was digging through them, luckily I already cherry picked most of the good stuff so I really didn’t care if he bought it all while I was looking, but what ticked me off was right after he made the deal he turned to me and was like “ hey man I just bought them all” as if he wanted me to just stop digging right then and there.

I agree with you. The other guy crowded him and that's kind of aggressive when he could have just backed up and waited his turn. I would have been feeling uneasy if that happened to me.

I had an item I took off the shelf at a thrift, had it in my cart for a good ten minutes and an old guy came up to me, saw it in my cart and blamed me for stealing it from him -he was nowhere in sight when I took it off the shelf…I said, “you were nowhere near it when I put it in my cart, and I don’t appreciate you accusing me of theft, but if you want this so darned bad, here you go”, and gave it to him. He had the gall to tell everyone in earshot that he had it first AFTER I gave it to him, total liar, maybe mentally deranged…it’s not worth it to fight over stuff, but for someone to accuse someone is another level smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've worked at a thrift store for 6 years and every year the customer get worst. Some have mental issues, alot of thieves which I'd say the majority are women of any shade of color and age from 18-80. Our prices are very reasonable and cheap, very cheap but dealing with the public all day/everyday in this manner makes me not want to help the community anymore. Even had someone pull a knife on us.

Yes, there are "entitled" older people. I would say there are far more little teenagers running around thinking their entitled to everyone's things which includes retail stores.

I would of called for store management or security, and let them know you were being harrassed. The more someone can get away with it, the more they will do it. If the store management refuses to do anything about it, then call police right in front of them. I have very low tolerance for BS like that.

Every year in my small town and the surrounding areas we have a city wide garage sale. I haven't participated in years. The last sale I had, an item was marked 50 cents. Lady asked me if I'd take 10 cents for it and I told her no. It was some collectible glassware that was worth more than 50 cents. She got honked off, started yelling. Now I just take my stuff to charities or Goodwill.

Both were in the wrong. Guy should have waited his turn, but other guy didnt have to be aggressive with his words off the rip. Could have politely asked the guy to wait till he was done. But I get how it can be frustrating when people dont have the etiquette to wait their turn on things.

My family is happy for your items purchased at bargain price. The kids also learned about cost, price, value, profit, macro, and microeconomics. WELL DONE.

I was in Aldi the other day and a lady was right on me even having the gall to reach right over me as I was putting in my debit card number. Tried to tell her to please back away, but then she said no speak English. Ugh! I normally won’t say anything, but the older I get the more I value my space

We don't usually use the term 'back off' or 'back away' in UK as we tend to be so ridiculously 'after you Claude' ultra-polite, but 'please will you stand a little further away' ought to say the same thing. However, also in an Aldi funnily enough, my husband asked the guy behind him to give him a little more space, after crowding him, to have a third customer rage at him for complaining. I despair of the human race at times and think in future 'back off.... now' is going to be my preferred phrase! Or is it the ilk of customer who uses the likes of Aldi I wonder?

I'm in a wheelchair, and I was looking through a shoebox of coins on my lap at a sale. I had a guy reach into the box (on my lap) trying to dig through them. I told him I just bought that. I handed $10 to the guy running the sale, and he said he was about to punch the guy. I also had a guy once try to take a cookie jar out of my hands at a church rummage sale. I threw it on the ground. I paid the $2 for it and the guy who tried to take it from me was pissed off. I've seen him many times at sales since and he steers clear of me. I absolutely do not take abuse. I carry a carry piece in case someone ever thinks they will try to help themselves to my car or wallet.

I was once at a thrift store looking at books located on a series of shelves. This guy comes in who I immediately recognized from a large book sale I had attended. He starts aggressively scanning over the shelves to find anything good before I get it. I ignored him and continued looking at the books in an orderly way from left to right. This was a large section of shelves, but he quickly works his way straight over to my left side and then starts reaching in front of my face and pulling books out of the area I was standing directly in front of. It was rude and I wasn't going to just stand there and be disrespected by this guy so I turned and said almost exactly what the guy in this video did, basically that I'm looking at this column of books so please do not reach in front of my face and grab stuff. He didn't take it well, but backed off. Some times people need an attitude adjustment. Because I didn't want to leave a bad taste in his mouth I made it a point to apologize for getting a bit miffed, introduced myself, told him I had seen him at the book sale and wished him well with his business.

First thing I spotted at the first sale is that vintage fan with blue blades. Those have good resell value.

Be Kind and move on. I hate confrontation. I never fight anyone over a garage sale item. Maybe I'm a wimp but that's ok

I met a lady selling chickens at a flea market. We couldn't see them right and walked around the cage she was standing on the side my husband and I went to and she asked us to step back. My husband goes let's go. I picked the brown one even though I didn't get to see her right and glad I did. My husband said he felt she was not right.

Once at the goodwill bins I was trying to get to the bottom of a square deep one. There were 20 other bins there. All open with only a few people there. I had been working trying to find a match to a shoe for a long time and a woman came to the same bun and starting going through things filling up the holes I had made to get to the bottom.

Yesterday I just picked up 3 of those corning ware corn flower dishes at a garage sale. All 3 with lids in next to mint condition for 10 bucks for all 3. It was a 7 cup, 6 cup and 1.5

Oh we have one every year!!!! Where I live (in a small shore town on the east coast) every year they have the yearly yard sales, the whole town gets a map. If you're putting stuff out and want your address on the map. It will be for a fee. Otherwise. Most don't bc people come down every street anyways. So we do this once a year as a good clean out. While my husband is cleaning out our junk! I'm buying someone else's in the neighborhood but he's never not been impressed with what I've brought back! Ok, I'm gonna sit back and watch!!! It's been a few years since we participated, bc my father was very ill and passed in Nov. so we will probably get back into next year

But he was just miserable... he's at peace now and he was not at the end, he didn't deserve to go thru that. So I feel selfish complaining but of course I'd have kept him here forever if I could've. Such is life....

It's common courtesy to let the first there look first. I think he didn't need to be loud about it, but I get his point of view.

Regarding the two Naval Port ( left ) Starboard ( right ) lights, you should have bought both along with the gold one. Port and Starboard are a set and they go together. One isn’t any good without the other.

I hate hosting yard sales because people by me are just rude . The garage is not part of the sale and had to ask a woman to leave three times. I bet she'd like my late fathers beer steins from Germany cica 1960s. She actually TOLD me she was taking them. No. An early bird. Too many stories. Also by me there's mostly resellers than want everything for nothing. You both are so polite and reasonable. Because of a few I, through stuff out rather than deal with a yard sale.

In my past 30 years of reselling I have definitely had my share of confrontations with people at sells trying to push me ,jump in front me , taking stuff out of my hands Lol that didn't end well for that person greed clouds people judgement I am 6'5 250lb man umm and you are going to grab something out of my hand like a child I don't think so I have never done any of those things if you get that item before I did good for you respect goes a long way most of the time you will get rewarded for it

I have had to ask people to back up before. Waiting in line I could actually feel their breath on me or actually up against me. I ask them nicely to back up. It is almost always folks from the same group of countries. I think that they are used to being close to each other. This guy was pretty aggressive about it though.

OMG you are so lucky those blue pattern dishes I have been trying to find this sets and put it together but I can't ever find them with the lids at a decent price and the Pyrex bowl at timestamp 25:19 where I live everyone prices them ridiculously high but I would love to put a set together.

Oh wow! My late Mom had that very same mixer! That brought brought back a lot of fond memories as she would let my sister and I lick the beaters before she cleaned them and my cousin had that Charlie McCarthy doll and it used to creep me out! Lol!
