Did anybody else notice that klopps tactics tonight where identical to mourinhos against man city?? How pool played in the first half with long balls and then swapped to attacking as soon as the 2nd half started to catch city out. Even down to the subs and the point he brought them on as the same as mourinho

Well the addition of VVD is indeed huge. He adds another layer of calm and leadership. Just look at what how unstressed Liverpool were even when under the hammer. TAA is improving so much and he had a great game. Lovren, was utterly superb tonight. He's much more at ease with VVD leading. Robertson wasn't at his best but he got better. It was odd to see him play so poorly. Milner was great again tonight, Ox worked hard, Gini was clearly great going forward, but he's a bit of a wisp out there. In saying that he's a great 2nd half sub to bring on. I think Milner and Henderson work very well together knocking lumps out of the opposition attacks.

Salah must get player of the season...over two legs he was better than De Bruyne.....that was the criteria that all the pundits mentioned...

I don't think the pundits are giving Klopp enough credit. If Man City had gone 3-0 up, Klopp would still have stuck to his tactics; Liverpool would still look to manufacture that one chance to score. To assume that City could keep the tempo up for the entire 90 minutes and expect David Silva to outrun Gini, De Bruyne to outwit Ox, and NOT to tire at some point, then they simply don't appreciate the fitness levels of these youngsters. Liverpool has the youngest squad in the EPL. City had only 3 shots on target in 180 minutes of the tie.
