Mammoth Lakes: Drive to Devils Postpile

Enjoy a relaxing and scenic drive through the mammoth national forest to the Devil's Postpile National Monument. Established in 1911, the Devil's postpile Monument encompasses a beautiful waterfall (known as Rainbow Waterfalls), one of the best examples of columnar basalt and beautiful pine trees.
Parking is very limited during summer break weekends. There are complimentary intervalley shuttles. There is no overnight parking in the Reds Meadow Valley or Devil's Postpile. However, there is overnight parking a quarter mile north along the road.

Ranger Station to Devils Postpile .4 miles
Ranger Station to Rainbow Falls 2.5 miles
Rainbow Falls trailhead to Rainbow Falls 1.3 miles
Rainbow Falls Trailhead to Devil's Postpile 1.3 miles
