Can you imagine growing up in Mammoth and being able to easily access these small streams chock full of fish throughout your summer vacation?

Yeah, it would be pretty amazing.
Love that stream, great place to dial in your casting.

Yeah, certainly highlighted some of my deficiencies. It's been so long since I've done that type of fishing. I need to do more.
Nice looking stream

Yeah it was nice. Ironically, I ran up and over it during my race last weekend. LOL.
Video quality is excellent! Beautiful shots.

Nice. I ran a trail race in Mammoth last weekend and we ran right over that fallen log / bridge I was fishing. LOL.
Alger…. Going for Goldens. I fished Alger a couple of times. There is a very little stream that comes out of the lake. I’ve caught some nice sized goldens in that small stream.

If that’s the outlet stream from lake 1, we didn’t fish it. So much water so little time..
Will there be a Alger lake video ?

Yes. Probably next week. Maybe one for each day. We’ll see how it plays out. There are 4 hours of video to edit. Sometimes that’s a lot. Sometimes it’s crap. LOL.

Fishing may be good on Mt. Everest!
how long is your leader.I only use a 7.5 ft. leader and a 1.5 ft tippet .For most Sierra waters i fing that long enough I also bought a 7ft pole but haver not used it yet. Thanks for posting

Glad you liked it. For a stream like this I'll go with a stock Rio 7.5' 5X leader with no extra tippet. I strongly encourage you to watch the Joe Humphrey's playlist linked to in the video. He discusses leader length he uses.
Any update on the Alger video

LOL. Uploading it now but KZread is having issues. It's 3 videos but I may not release it for another few days. Only the hike in is finished. Day 2 is the fishing day and I probably won't release that for two weeks.

First day is up. I just finished day two yesterday.
Hi Jim, Are you Hooked on Fishing?
@highcountrychronicles
Жыл бұрын
LOL. No. But in 1997 I fished every weekend from Memorial Day through Labor Day into October. So I may have a condition....

A small explanation for my question. Yesterday the 28th I had a brief conversation through our respective truck windows about emergency flashers on his truck. Thought the design on his window said hooked on fishing, I may have been mistaken. Anyway he looked familiar but I couldn't place the face. Awhile later it occurred to me it was your tube videos. This was in Sacramento. So that is where my question came from. Easily could have been you. Thanks for your videos. Have a good day. David stefani
