Wheein is one of Korea's true "aces." People throw the word around but there are maybe 5 in the industry for real and she's one (not that anyone asked but j-hope of BTS and Yeonjun of TXT are among the others). She's so versatile and so talented. I adore her.

Wheein had such an amazing solo! Butterfly is my favorite but Trash is second! Love the choreo! She got the abs out! Wheein is an artist her works are so good that's why all the artist references in watercolor are even more meaningful for her! You should see some of her work!

All the ladies of Mamamoo are all about inclusion. They are very outspoken and constantly sing about subjects that are considered taboo in Korea. They are proponents of pride parades, positive body image, breaking down race barriers, etc. They constantly do these kinds of things whether they are performing or just posting instagram stories. They really are awesome. Purple Hawke's two videos that introduce the members only cover this just a little bit, but it is a start.

She is definitely an ace she is the definition of an ace. She sings beautiful, her dancing is amazing,she can also rap, she draws she drawed all her tattoos herself, she plays piano, she learned playing the drums in just one day and she is good in archery gosh there is nothing that this woman can’t do😍

She deserves it all!!!

Ditto to everything you said. Wheein is practically perfect at everything she does and she does a lot of different things. Her voice sits perfectly in a mid tempo r&b groove and I think that's where she's most at home but she's also great at ballads and OST songs for kdramas. She's the MMM member who picks up choreo the fastest and she's always in the pocket when she dances. You're not going to survive her dance video to Kiana Lede's song Title. It's just rude. She rarely raps with Mamamoo but I love the old vids of her doing part of Yoon Mirae's classic Baby Bye Bye, which Wheein used to say was her favorite song. In case you don't know Yoon Mirae, she's an African American/Korean rapper & singer from the US who is one of the most prominent hip hop artists in Korea and is married to k-hip hop icon Tiger JK. When MMM's contracts came up for renewal Wheein signed a limited extension through Dec '23 where she agreed to participate on two MMM albums & related promotional appearances and all MMM concerts with no time limit. The odd thing about the members' new contracts is that they have different end dates. Hwasa is signed only through June '23 while Solar and Moonbyul's contracts end in June '24. So we can expect 2 more albums by Mamamoo before they decide again whether to continue producing new music as a group. Imo they'll never officially disband even if they stop being a full time working unit and only make occasional records and concert appearances together. Mamamoo is all about inclusiveness and empowerment in their songs and statements but more importantly in the things they do, such as their racially diverse dancers, the drag musicians in the Hip MV, and the nationally televised award show a few years ago where they invited a gender fluid dance troupe called Pinky Cheeks to join them. They've also been very outspoken about internet bullying and used another award show appearance to include projected messages on the subject while Moonbyul rapped about it. Solar occasionally does videos on her yt channel Solarsido to talk about issues like female genital mutilation and climate change or to honor certain people, such as Korean War veterans and the "comfort women" victimized by the Japanese during WWII. I think you'd enjoy Solar's collab with songwriter Siedah Garrett, African children and Michael Jackson's backup singers and guitarist on Man in the Mirror for the online concert this past summer called World is One. She later uploaded a solo version of Man in the Mirror on Solarsido. oh yes, wheein is still part of mamamoo for as long as the group continues (a minimum of two more years, after that we'll see what happens, but many are expecting a full exodus from their agency and probably just renaming themselves like beast/highlight had to do). even if the four of them opt to focus more on solo careers, though, they're still going to be close friends.. especially wheein and hwasa, who have been friends since childhood (they met back in middle school and have been together ever since) i almost wish you'd seen the vocals video for "trash"... she's absolutely dangerous in another way in that video, since it's just her on her own doing what she wants as she sings... she actually did a vocals video for every song on redd, the album for "water color" but i'd definitely suggest checking out solos from the other members and some more group content before drowning yourself in wheein content, no matter how our dangerous puppy (that's the animal associated with her... solar is a rabbit, moonbyul is hamster, wheein is dog/puppy, hwasa is lion) makes you feel... and that's coming from another wheein-biased moo r&b and hiphop are wheein's preferred musical genres and the former is her wheelhouse... she feels most comfortable singing r&b style music and a lot of her solo work is at least influenced by the genre... other than the ballads and osts, of course. also, her performance videos are short but dangerous, just like wheein herself (she's the shortest member of mamamoo, who are quite likely the shortest girl group out there). her performances run a full range of genres, as well, with dance covers of songs like lil pump's "be like me", kiana lede's "title", destiny rogers' "lo lo" and more (such as bruno mars and ariana grande songs that she both sang and danced to as parts of her solo stages in some of their concerts) and as you mentioned and other comments also state, wheein is indeed the definition of an ace... she can do absolutely anything she puts her mind to and seems to make whatever it is look easy... she's into art and photography (two things her mother does) and writing songs and poetry, though she rarely lets other people (even hwasa, who is basically her other half) see much of it. which makes the times she shares any of it with the fans all the more precious ...she's generally considered among the top singers in south korea (and not just kpop singers... she was once the only kpop vocalist included in a list of top 5 singers in south korea), those that know her dance ability tend to rave about it nonstop (mostly the choreographers that have worked with her or the group... some of them quite big names). she can rap as well, though has only ever really done it either just for fun or only in covers of songs, though her part in park bom's "4:44" could possibly count as a rap ...she was the first idol in isac (basically idol olympics) to hit three 10s in a row in archery, she can memorize up to 30 words and repeat them in order, she picks up choreography the fastest out of all the girls and then helps teach it to the other members, she learned how to play the drums in just a matter of weeks for one of her solo stages (she mostly just learned the one song she was performing, of course, but has shown since that she's definitely got the basics down)... she tends to win virtually all the games the girls play among themselves (and gets adorably pouty when she doesn't win. right before helping the winner(s) celebrate)... and so much more...she's often called mamamoo's golden child or 'the one perfect child' wheein used to be exceptionally close with another ace that you seem to know pretty well: seulgi of red velvet, though after a time seulgi became closer with moonbyul (partially due to wheein's extreme shyness, which has manifested as anxiety in recent years). all of mamamoo and red velvet are friends, calling themselves mamavelvet and even having a private chat group of that name... both groups have often said that while individual members may be closer to individuals from other groups (or solo artists), as a whole, the two groups are closest to each other... even if we haven't gotten much interaction between them in recent years, the members do still go to each others concerts when they have them (and we got moonbyul as a guest on one of seulgi and irene's level up project episodes)

You have no idea how much power Water Color holds. This is her last solo album from her old label who didn't take care of her solo activities well. Soloist Wheein was hidden in a dungeon for 7 years. If you listen to the lyrics of Water Color, she is actually declaring her breaking free and "starting over". After promotions for this album, it was then publicly announced that she's leaving Mamamoo's company. She made a special arrangement to still make music with MMM but all solo music projects will be under a new label, TheL1ve. Such a boss move.

Released a Christmas asinine with Aliee. Two of the best vocalists in KPOP. Aliee's considered the Beyonce of KPOP. Did the Whitney Houston version of I Will Always Love You for a show. Need to check out the dance covers of Wheein if you haven't.

They also had drag queens in Hip in the scenes with Solar wearing the black and green look. They’re very different from other kpop groups. They really love as their own people and don’t worry about follow trends and being the stereotype everyone expects from idols. I truly love them.

I would absolutely love it if you could react to more Wheein, people don’t pay attention to her but she’s so talented and has such a unique style she deserves de recognition. Easy and goodbye are her two other solo projects but she has a bunch of collabs, OSTs and covers. Check out "Special Whee In - Butterfly (Feat. GSoul)" video; it is one of those that should be released on here album in this format. Just my opinion, but I think this version is better than the album version as you get more of her voice and the added benefit of her beauty. If you want to torture yourself with Weein, and the the rest of Mamamoo; you can always watch the commercial for Andar clothing titled 'Wanna be myself". Wheein's vocals just kill me, then those close-ups and her playful and flirty look is almost too much. Great work form all of them!

about black people dancing, i guess it comes from companies that give opportunities to foreigners. BTS? you'll see when it's about live performances in US and in the On Kinetic Manifesto Film (which one of the members J-Hope got close from a american dancer, that was in his mv with Becky G which was recorded in LA and has a lot of black dancers)

well its pretty rare to see other people except the members and dancers on mv. cause obv they'll spend budget to make the members look good instead of hiring extras. itzy, loona, bts have other multiple race and black people on mv too btw. nos surprise for itzy and bts tho. their company are way too rich. beside they're on korea so the multiple race would be mostly asian too xD
