Wheein is still part of Mamamoo, but for her solo work, she is with another company.

Mamamoo never let you down. Love your reaction and comments too. By the way, Mamamoo’s “My Con” world tour kicked out. Started at Seoul. So many fan cam video shows that they covered each others solo songs. That solo covers live stage of course amazingly drove us crazy. Wish you could react to that “Mamamoo covered the members’ solo song” video. You will love it.

More Reggaton vibe. Mamamoo has so many different sounds. All done well. Wheein signed w/ The Live. Ravee, another KPOP artist, who started his own label. Her latest comeback was under that label. Part of Mamamoo until 12/2023.

I think what you said about each member having their own unique sound in their voices is one of the things that draws me to their music so much. Each member has such a unique tone and vocal colour, and each of them have their own personal stylistic choices in their singing, and yet even with such distinctive unique voices, they still fit so well as a group. The individual variety, plus their blending, harmonizing and bouncing off each other so perfectly in their music and their performances is a big part of why I find them so engaging to listen to, at least in terms of their vocals. (That and how well they own any style of music and make it their own)

Hey, thanks for reacting, have you check Moonbyul's BD song "Present" released on Dec 22 ? she will send us a BD song each year, this is her 7th BD song. BTW, solar has "GOodbye 2022" and wheein has "Cheers", Hwasa has "Grey christmas" all mamamoo members has something for us at christmas.

I believe the background sound that threw you off by the end of the song isn't a bass but a horn instrument.

4:25 Got confused here, but i think you were reacting live on YT, and then moved to Twitch. Just wanted to pump Moonbyuls stock, and remind that Moonbyul is a vocalist. She was going to be the leader in another group before Mamamoo. In a recent vocal competition (for rappers, which she won), the lead judged asked if she was the lead vocalist in Mamamoo. REALLY worth checking out the songs she did at second world.

I basically agree with you about Illella but it did become an earworm after a couple listens. I think the problem is the expectations we have for a group that sets a high bar and keeps jumping over it with every new release. I always expect Mamamoo to blow me away with something we've never heard from them before so it was kinda disappointing to hear the reggaeton beat again. I suspect Illella and the short Mic On EP were released to give moomoos a few new fun songs before MMM embarked on their world tour. They've been so busy with their solo careers and various other commitments (Solar was tied up with the Mata Hari musical for about 6 months) that they didn't have the time to write and record more songs. That backhanded compliment about Moonbyul's singing was a bit of a low blow. To follow up on Genera1007's comments, The Second World included 8 extremely talented gg rappers competing as singers and Moonbyul won in a landslide. She had a perfect score in the first two rounds and from then on it was pretty much a race for second place. Check out her performances and you'll probably never again say "For a rapper she sings pretty good" unless you're joking. Everyone gets distracted by Wheein signing with another company for her solo work when MMM's 7 year exclusive contracts with RBW expired. They all re-upped with RBW as Mamamoo but the length and details of each member's contract extension were different. Hwasa's expires first in July '23, Wheein in Dec '23, and Solar & Moonbyul in July '24. Wheein's extension also specifies that she'll participate in recording and promoting two MMM albums by the end of '23 and (this is the interesting detail) all MMM concerts with no time limit, which implies MMM has no intention of disbanding. The Mic On EP is the first they've done since signing their extensions so we can expect another MMM group album next year. At this point there's no reason to believe they won't sign new extensions with RBW to continue as Mamamoo even if the other members do like Wheein and choose another company for their solo work. My guess is Hwasa will do exactly that because she hasn't released a solo album since songwriter/producer Park Woosang left RBW. He was her creative partner on all of her solo stuff. I think Solar will stay at RBW because she often collaborates with co-CEO Kim Dohoon on her solos and since Solar & Moonbyul are joined at the hip Moonbyul will probably stay as well.

I hadn't heard that detail about concerts in perpetuity before. Strengthens my belief that they'll never disband. I feel that they were really reinvigorated when they could get back in front of a live audience this fall.

@@martinschafer7404 Their contract details were included in the documents RBW released before they went public but nobody ever seems to mention that interesting clause in Wheein's. I think MMM was affected by the pandemic more than any other group because performing live with an audience has always been their bread & butter. They were at their peak before covid and haven't really had a hit since then.

I love Moonbyuls singing what u mean? She is the rapper of the group tho... shes much more ahead of most other in her position.

@@TheChampOfMedium I meant that qualifying her singing as "pretty good for a rapper" is damning with faint praise, as they say. I know you like her singing - I was teasing you about the unfortunate way you expressed it. 😏

The other 2 songs on this mini album are as good, for you lots of references to the past, though this song mentioned starry night. 1,2,3 Eoi is my favorite on this album. On the live performance Solar(who is as you said one of the most beautiful women ever to exist) actually belts out those adlibs at the end, while bent over in that slow twerk back step move, showing just how powerful those lungs are. Only this and 1,2,3 Eoi have an MV, all 3 songs have a live performance. Wheein is contracted for solo work with the L1ve, Mamamoo as a group, she is still RBW. Though some deal must have been worked out because the MY CON tour they are doing, Each member does one of the other members solos, with the correct Fits and choreo, later the group does another set of solos, Maria, Lunatic, Spit it out and Make Me Happy, the last is Wheein's solo under The L1Ve but Mamamoo is doing the song. So I am guessing regardless on how the contracting is done, We moomoos are getting mamamoo no matter what happens. At least until contracts end again.

To me Mamamoo is the best and deserves even more recognition. Other groups are great, but Mamamoo is on a whole other level. (Just like EXO)

They are all signed with RBW through 2023 for Mamamoo. WheeIn just signed with The L1ve for her solo stuff.

The baddass performance mamamoo release is definitely not my favourite type from them. I enjoy Illella well enough, but just like Aya and Hip it locks them into a specific routine that keeps them from doing the shit that made me fall in love with them - audience engagement and having fun on stage. (I also think its commercially a mistake, as they’re kinda losing a lot of the vibe that differentiates them in a crowded field. When they first switched to the badass vibe, they were filling a hole in the market, but I dont know the approach is working anymore).
