I went to my 2nd cousins funeral last month and the ushers didn't give me an obituary. My auntie sure did though.😂

I didn’t even know May, but I’m invested in her whole, Home Going. 1. Why, did she wear that red dress. Umhh! 2. Not a horse and carriage ride past the job. Mercy! 3. Where’s the repas? Who made the potato salad? (Loraine can’t cook) 4.Not on the Crack! Ugh! EJ, you crack me up. Thanks for all you hard work and the laughs. 🤣💕🤣

This right here was my Mom. She just recently passed away and I still cannot believe it. But this was her. She loved going to funerals and we’ve heard all of this from her🤣. Me and my siblings knew that her service had to be an “event”. The service was a beautiful tribute to our Mommy. We had plenty of programs, plenty of food and plenty of money to pay for everything. I know she’s proud of how we honored her. Thank you so much for these much needed laughs.

My momma is a funeral director. I can say ALL of this is true 😂😂😂

At 14 my 1yr cousin shu shu passed and at the funeral my great aunt his grandma who was blind fell on the casket and almost knocked it over. Then at the grave yard she tried to jump in the hole with the casket. I told myself once I got grown I wasn't going to no more damn funerals. I'm in trauma therapy now.😔

@@62new Don't know how widespread it is, but it happened to my family. Daddy was not a big churchgoer. Some "donations" definitely had to be made before they would hold his funeral service at the church.

I saw myself in "I wanna go up there and say something...but I dunno what to say." Public speaking is a nightmare scenario for me so at my mom's funeral I read a short poem and kinda sorta greeted/thanked people for their love and support. I wasn't about to be up there rambling too long, then boohooing and needing help to sit back down in my chair lol

My mama just passed and she would have been rollin’ on the floor listening to this!! 😂😂😂 THANK YOU EJ RIP MAMA

It’s an argument at every funeral on my dads side about the program and who was left out. The ushers at my mom’s family church hoard those programs like they paid for them, then send you home with 100 programs “for the family”. 🤦🏾‍♀️

It's the "That may have killed her" comment for me! It's like you were at every funeral I've been to.

Whew childdddd, my MIL wrote her own obituary, only a few things had to be tweaked. My husband followed her instructions to the letter and dared anyone say a damn thing including his brothers (they are janky). It went off without no drama including the repast. We took care of her until the end. But people (family) will try you.

Before GoFundMe there was the fish/chicken fry. Plates were sold and the money went towards funeral costs.
