Thank you for suggesting this song from The Witcher 3! It's such a beautiful game with gorgeous music by Marcin Przybyłowicz! I loved making a cover arrangement for it. Geralt is such a sexy character. hahaha! :D
I initially tried to play guitar for Wolven Storm, but the more I sang it like that, the more curious I became about hearing it on piano. Since the original is so moving, with lute and an angelical voice, I decided to try to experiment and see what happened. Once I found that watery, reverby piano sound... I couldn't look back. You guys know how I love my reverb. hahaha!
Thank you so much for watching. Happy holidayyyys! :D I hope to post another vid for New Years to say hi, but in case we don't see each other, I wish you the very best for 2016. Much love from Mexico!
I'm going to be posting some gameplay videos from The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt on my second channel, in case you enjoy those kinds of videos, here's a link. I'm still editing, so it will be a day or two.
/ malufenix2
Many thanks to CD Projekt Red for the permission to make and post this cover. What an incredible year you guys had! I wish you many more like this!
And thanks to Omikkron for helping me film this video!

''The witchers' medallion is a silver symbol of the witchers' profession. Each one is shaped to represent the school a witcher comes from. It is sensitive to magic, vibrating and tugging on its chain when spells are being cast''. That amulet should never stop moving when you sing, lady Malukah. Your voice is enchanting!

Actually on the beginning my wife was laughing she will make you a phonetic transcription (as it would be more than cool to hear it in author's language) but the moment you started singing in Polish... This time there are no words to describe how honored and grateful i feel for this tribiute. The effort you put into to createating this version with polish. Thank You... +Malukah Well... to be honest, I don't think it's that great, actually. I'm sure you could do better. Polish language sounds much more "clear" than english (some word phones, like t, d, s or c). Try this to hear www.ivona.com/us/ - i's quite good, choose "polish, Agnieszka". But anyway, your covers are truly beautiful. I like them very much. And you, guys, should watch the movie "Double life of Veronique" by K. Kieślowski (Malukah, he was maybe the best polish director ever, famous in the world mosly for his Three Colors Trilogy - "Blue" is one of the most artistically impressive movies I've ever seen) featuring french actress Irene Jacob. She speaks with absolutaly PERFECT polish accent. It's just stunning, really hard to believe. Od course, there was polish director but still it's sounds great.

The lyrics as sung in the video, with Polish parts.. *These scars long have yearned for your tender caress* *To bind our fortunes, damn what the stars own* *Rend my heart open, then your love profess* *A winding, weaving fate to which we both atone* *You flee my dream come the morning* *Your scent - berries tart, lilac sweet* *To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy* *Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep* *Za wilczym śladem podążę w zamieć* _(The wolf I will follow into the storm)_ *I twoje serce wytropię, uparte* _(To find your heart, its passion displaced)_ *Przez gniew i smutek, stwardniałe w kamień* _(By ire ever growing, hardening into stone)_ *Rozpalę usta smagane wiatrem.* _(Amidst the cold to hold you in a heated embrace)_ *Z moich snów uciekasz nad ranem,* _(You flee my dream come the morning)_ *Cierpka jak agrest, słodka jak bez* _(Your scent - berries tart, lilac sweet)_ *Chcę śnić czarne loki, splątane* _(To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy)_ *Fiołkowe oczy, mokre od łez.* _(Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep)_ *I know not if fate would have us live as one* *Or if by love's blind chance we've been bound* *The wish I whispered when it all began* *Did it forge a love you might never have found?* *The wolf I will follow into the storm* *To find your heart, its passion displaced* *The wolf I will follow into the storm* *The wish I whispered when it all began* *Did it forge a love you might never have found?* *NOTE:* 1 -- I don't speak Polish, I just play around with g-translator based on the sound in the video, so I might've wrote the words wrong.. 2 -- The words in the bracket is NOT the "exact" translation, its rather the English version of the part of the lyrics sung in Polish..

Of course it's not an exact translation, but quite alike. For example: "Za wilczym śladem podążę w zamieć", literally means: "Following the wolf's TRACE I will come into the BLIZZARD" (wherein the verb 'podążać' is an old-fashioned poetic or literary word, not used in colloquial speech, especially in such 'perfect future tense' form).

  • @ada-dech

    @ada-dech

    4 жыл бұрын

@@ghuul Thanks a lot for the confirmation.. I'm glad it wasn't far off wrong, what I did was just translating a whole line of English lyric into Polish in g-translator.. then break down word-by-word to find the likely alternative words that match the sound of Malukah's singing which still relevant to the whole line of the lyrics.. Like I said I don't speak Polish, I just happens to have too much free time and a 'good' hearing.. but I came to know quite bit of Polish words during the time I did play around with this lyric..

Thank you very much for this masterpiece. that's my opinion of course.

Thank you, Malukah, for not only understanding the music, the feelings it envokes, but also adding a part of yourself that enriches the melody and meaning of this condensed story. Magnificent as always! I love how you adapted it for piano and spliced the English and Polish lyrics. And the harmonies towards the end gave me chills. Would love to hear your take on "Lullaby of Woe" as well. :)

Masquerade There are parts from Yen's point of view too though. It's hinted at that dandelion tells Geralt's story to bards all around and that's why he's so famous and has songs written about him

I just found out that I waited almost a year to write this comment... but when you posted this song it was perfect timing for me. I want to make movies and I got stuck in the paperwork and funding attempts for my first feature and I didn't have any motivation left, and then you released this song and it changed a lot for me. I never played the game, but I grew up on Sapkowski's Witcher saga and I absolutely love the fight scenes. And this song triggered memories from the books and helped me go on with the not-so-sexy film paperwork. Thanks a lot 😀

This is fantastic! Not-so-sexy paperwork is always such a drag, but I'm super duper happy to hear that you found the motivation to keep working through it!!!! Best of luck on your journey, Bogna! Thank you so much for writing this comment because this now motivates ME to hurry up and release the new song I'm working on hahaha! :D

I'm Polish, it doesn't mean I'm a mushy Pole. You made a beautiful play, ... a play that Slavs should listen to before breakfast. You show the beauty of Slavic hearts and their spirit, a brave, fearless and steadfast spirit. Someone is making Slavic brothers murder each other. Thank you very much for your interest in our history and bravery. Slavic.... AND ALREADY 100% Polish hearts love you...

These scars long have yearned for your tender caress To bind our fortunes, damn what the stars own Rend my heart open, then your love profess A winding, weaving fate to which we both atone You flee my dream come the morning Your scent - berries tart, lilac sweet To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep The wolf I will follow into the storm To find your heart, its passion displaced By ire ever growing, hardening into stone Amidst the cold to you in a heated embrace You flee my dream come the morning Your scent - berries tart, lilac sweet To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep I know not if fate would have us live as one Or if by love's blind chance we've been bound The wish I whispered, when it all began Did it forge a love you might never have found? You flee my dream come the morning Your scent - berries tart, lilac sweet To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep

(The part Malu sang in)
