I actually liked their performance the most

One of the most underrated countries in esc

the fact they only got 1 entry outside of the top ten from 1991 to 2002 is such a huge achievement. and then there best outcome in 2005 they were in their prime. malta is so underrated they deserve so much more

They only had such a great track record back then because they were one of the only three countries, who had the right to sing in English during the language rule era. So as much as l like some of Malta's entries from that era (1994 and 1998 in particular), we know that they would have flopped badly if they'd had to sing in Maltese.

But, if they were only good because they sang in English, they should have collapsed in 1999, not had 3 top ten in the next 4 years.

@@ChippewaValleyUrbanistActually, 1999 happens to be the first year since their return to the contest in 1991 when they didn't make the top 10. It is true that they were a bit luckier in the early 00s than the UK and Ireland were, but they would end up struggling after their 2nd place in 2005.

Chiara is a legend of Eurovision, its a pity that she never won with Malta

I'm quite confident that starting second on 2005 did cost her the win. starting 15th or 20th, I'm quite sure she would have won over Helena Paparizou then.

I still feel bad for her when I remember her going on a local tv show talking about the absurd amount of comments she received fat shaming her back in 2005 😞

Yes! Its my 2nd favourite and i vote for it back in 2019. Super underrated

Fun fact: Malta also tried to enter in 1973, with their usual national finals at the time to decide the song. The semifinals went on normally, but PBS later cancelled the national final and withdrew, because they liked none of the 6 finalists.

The Busker is so underrated

Turns out of I was one of the few that voted for Buskers. But I also voted 3x for Ireland. At least I slightly improved the result.

I loved hearing busker, I thought they should’ve been up there I loved the song

Malta was my winner in 2002 and would be also in 2022 but with Ritmu

I liked this year's entry so much (2023). It was a nice song, it deserved more love.

I wish Malta had won in 2002. It's so much better than the song that really won.

I've been watching Eurovision since 1993, I recently went and re- watched all the songs again and made a list of all the songs I liked, I wanted to see which country I liked the most- the winner is Malta, I liked every song since 19930 2023.

@@Ayranshar When you see other peoples thoughts on Dance, they hardly talk about it and have it placed right near the bottom. I don't understand that perspective. It's one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever!

Malta finished last in the first semi? Really? That's so undeserved it hurts. It was my 8th this year, behind Switzerland and right before the winner Sweden.

The country with the longest parricipations history, whithout no victory. But with 4 less parricipations compared to Cyprus which has the most participations (41) without no victory as well.

I'm really worried about Malta because of the new rules about televotes only in semi finals. They need great songs in next years to qualify because they always do bad with televotes. They never would have been last this year if the juries were in semi finals

Televote should stop underrating malta every single year. Its unfair because they are ruinning their chances of winning or even qualifying.
