Malls are dying in Canada. Their vestigial corpses of pre-2015 society being kept on life support from the never ending supply of young women that want to do all the same kind of shopping they could do at home on Amazon, except in a public place where they can show off their adherence to the latest makeup and outfit trends that they will consider to be cringe within a few shorts years time.

"here i am w/mallgoths, on public transport"🤘🏼🤣 also, i began a subculture of mallgoth some yrs ago; mall garage goth. i'm not aware of any others, but feel free to identify accordingly if you're a goth of some degree who finds peace of mind in chilling in the mall garage for the free hr parking away from the sun be it to wash your car or do work in your car and play gothy tunes, or go as far as to sample the reverb of the garage at 3am for your goth-ish recordings. bonus points if your car's a murdered out batmobile of any capacity, more bonus points if you do any of this with no intentions of entering the mall itself, for reasons pertaining to social anxiety and other culturally interchangeable gothisms. but i digress... or just die... wee! 🦇🌚💫

Personally I think they're appropriating millenial culture and zoomer mall goths should be forced to refer to nu-metal as ol-metal.

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It's me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. I go outside and people stop me to comment how similar I look and act to this character. I chuckle softly as I'm assured everyday this character is me in every way. It's really quite funny how similar this character is to me, it's almost like we're identical twins. When I first saw this character, I had an existential crisis. keep in mind the term mall goth was basically a derogatory term in the 2000's, as if to say they're not 'real' goths, so yea the term works

I personally never had a goth/emo/scene phase, growing up. Too sickly to do much, in general. I *did* briefly go rap phase and Rastafarian-phase, though, when I got into better health. Each of those only lasted a couple months, back-to-back. But I found my true calling in praising the striking blows of the hammer of the gods smashing into the anvil of time, forging my heart into a better person than I really was expected to be, all things considered. I DID date a few goths, though. Not all at once, of course. Over time.
