Why tho? As long as its Non-DLC you can tank most vet dungeon if not all. Even with a PVP Build as long as u have taunt. Maybe you just got unlucky and got partied with mean ppl.

People just see that big sword and assume "fake" and vote to kick... Maybe ask guildies instead and tell them you want to test out something new. Are you an experienced tank? -I think for this build to work you need to know what you are doing, it's not for beginners.

@@capyyx Well, I run with a werewolf as tank now and then and it works just fine in most vet dungeons. No harm in trying out some new things.

Nine months later and I can tell you, this is a very viable tank build for veteran dungeons and trials. It's a surprisingly strong build if played correctly, you could even incorporate vampirism for a little extra survivability which goes well with the self-heal availability of this build through lifesteal. As a long-time tank, I grew tired of sword and shield on my dragonknight, I even got tired of sword and shield on my arcanist, so it came as a big surprise that this non-meta build is not only viable, but potentially strong. It requires more focus and technical play than your average sword and board build, but if played correctly, you'll be tanking well and you might even have a little fun doing it.

I do not play this class but I turned my brother onto this build . He copied it to the t even the outfit . He absolutely loves it . I healed him on a veteran was one of the easiest times I have ever had healing. I use 2 of your builds as well lazy sorc and hot sauce they are amazing. I want to thank you for making these builds and explaining them so well. You really help the players that actually watch and listen to you

we need this build again now with the nightblade buffs since i can only imagine how much stronger it is now XD

ya know im curious what going with mayhaps an absorb stamina glyph and some extra focus in recovery traits could do in terms of letting ya drop the 8% cost reduction set in excahnge for death dealers fete as well as 1 druid, 1 trainee, and 2 endurance for that bonus like 26 to like 30 max stats.

Love your builds: lazy tank, cleric, Bobby, nature's bounty, yogi. Use them all every day and have absolute fun, ... But this is where we have to stop 😂

WHERE?! Does it say "YOU MUST USE THIS BUILD". Let the people who like fun thinks enjoy the game, this is incredibly interesting, no I will not use this in content but its so cool to see what can be done with some testing

I have been something similar as a healer carve with ward master CP gives 10% damage reduction, relentless focus, healthy offering (20k crit heals) healing sprigs, razor caltrops debuf, using winters respite all the ground aoe trigger winters respite, groups love it. Concealed weapon, spiked bone shield back bar

Do an uodated guide for this build or find a way to make it useful for all endgame content better would love to see a full hybrid nightblade two handed tank build guide for example 21 mag, 22 health, 21 stam for attributes everything else is fully based on your choice

I never seen a Nightblade tank this should be interesting

@@elderwiz3165 I play tanks only, and the NB is my main, has been for 6 years. I have a Bow on the back bar. But I think I might give this a try, too. Sounds fun! Xynode rocks as always.

Problem is the community is divided between META-humpers and non-META humpers. Just because this build isn't 100% optimized for veteran HM trials or veteran DLC dungeon trifectas doesn't mean it's not an absolute blast to play and completely viable for most content and for most players. If you look at solely an optimization viewpoint, ESO sorta-kinda pigeon-holes you into a certain playstyle (sword & board + ice staff for tanking). So many players come from other games like WoW or FF14 where you can absolutely tank w/ a 2H (blood DK in WoW, dark knight in FF14). This is such a cool & unique build that will be able to excite new players who aren't interested in sword and board. I for one am excited to try it out. Appreciate the work you do in creating cool and unique builds Xy! Cheers Ninja Fam!

I've never played tank so I'm out of my element when I say this. And I'm looking at this from an aesthetic standpoint but, what makes NB viable for tank. When I think NB I think ninja stuff lol. I feel like I'm finna get chewed up and spit out in the comments😂😂😂

the game is made so you can do damage, tank and heal on all classes if you have the right build for it, this is more of a fun build for dungeons though as it lacks important buffs that any raid groups generally want.

This is a really cool build and really fun but it also highlights a fundamental problem with tank meta in ESO. Realistically, trying to convince any group to allow you to run this build is going to be a hard sell. People will just zero-in on the lack of buff sets (e.g. powerful assault) and assume you must be trolling. Shoe-horning all these buff sets on non- dps roles has really stifled build diversity in non-dps roles and I really wish the devs would address it.

I wish you knew how many tank sets i have then. all meta sets, all have uses.

Ran this build with a khajit with a pug thru Banished Cells II HM (I held almost a dozen Daedroths) easy but eventually died cuz the group died lol. Did clear on the third pull. Used it again in Castle Thorn HM and my hands got sweaty! Surprisingly no one kicked me from group but I held aggro pretty decently and with all the running around stamina wasn’t an issue (cleared it on second pull). Pretty satisfying. Crazy build but definitely fun.

I love how people over and over say this will not work in content or as a tank you need to do this. What makes it funny is when you have people who have run it content telling yes it will work. They stick to their guns and disagree or say this crap. Just goes to show people that are score pushers and those people that play the game for pure fun and enjoy ment. Last I checked, ESO was playing how you want. You don't like the build cool don't use it and just shut up about it. Now, there is nothing wrong with score pushing by no means.

@giant-cosmic-fart7781 I understand what you are saying. I have nothing wrong with a raid leader wanting specific things on everyone involved in a trail. That said, I have used DK immortal tank, Arcanist tank, and his lazy templar tank in trials and dungeons. They do and will work great. His builds are meant to give different ways of playing. If your raid leader asks for specific gear again, that is perfectly ok. But to say his builds will not work is 100% false cause they do work. That is all I am saying.

Noone says things are impossible to clear with his builds, they just make it harder for your group to carry your weight. Also I have yet to see a log of the top content being completed with one of his builds. Content such as vRG hardmode and vDSR hardmode that are very hard and even have some damage checks.

Look up xynodes run of vAS plus 2 using only his builds, half of them had never even been in there before, 0 wipes cleared in first try. Proof is in the pudding as they say. Nothing says tanks have to be buff bots, dps can do that or healers or literally anyone. Tanks primary job is hold taunt and not die that's what a tank is a damage sponge in every single game since ever. You are free to play 30k health squish support tank all you want but it ISNT more effective than than ours.

I dont play your builds or use them for explanation of something as I really dont need it. I watch your build videos so i can see an interesting build I do the same for pvp. I dont enjoy most magsorc builds but i tend to watch them more than any other type because i find them interesting.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the degree of thought and effort this man puts into making these interesting builds.

What tank parses on a dummy? All tanks build for content. Wait, you parse on a 21m with a tank? I've honestly given up at this point. He is not a main tank, and it is patently obvious at this point, with both this and the last arcanist build. You augment your group's dps with a normal tank. This doesn't do that. You want the group to have the best dps possible whilst also maintaining control and survivability. This build reduces group dps for no reason other than to show off. If you can't control groups of adds without tormentor, that is a skill to learn. It is a wasted 5 piece set.. Well, of course, we have the other ' incredibly useful' sets, too... So at least there is a running theme. He is trying so hard to be different without considering whether something is actually useful.

@pklemming4717 you know it is funny you say that, for you see, I have ran almost every tank build he has in all content with no issue. Oh, my group never has an issue either. Now is his tank META no. Not score pushing as some people do. I play for fun. Also, I have over 5k hours in this game most as a tank. META is boring. So i will continue with his builds, and they work for me. If they dont work for you, then dont use them. There is no need to be negative just cause you disagree or dont like his builds. They are tried and true. I again i will state i use them in all content with no problem. So have a nice day and play eso how you like and i will play how i like.

And you're trying so hard to be relevant you pop in to make an invalid assumption based on erroneous facts and against something you havnt even tried. Ninjas have been using this for over a week now and I tanked vKA with it. This has been tested for weeks in every situation imaginable. Every tank does NOT have to be a buff bot squish tank that can't survive without a healer to babysit aka ALL of your 40k health trial buff bot tanks.

It is when the build enters other content I have problems. You are basically making your healers work harder and your dps to dps longer. All because of a choice of a build you chose to play...

This is an objectively HORRIBLE build geared toward people that lack fundamental understandings of the game. You are simply misleading players and doing a disservice to players that are trying to get into vet DLC content. Can you post any logs of this build being ran in vet DLC trials or 4 mans?
