Monsoons have their own charm and beauty. The sound of the rains translates nothing but music and rythm. Malhar is a beautiful Raga and it is sung or played during thunder of clouds and the rain torrents fall from the sky onto the earth. It is said that this raga is so powerful that, when sung perfectly, it can induce rains. Classical music stalwarts such as Tansen was said to have caused rains with his powerful rendition of Raga Malhar.
The rendition of this raga, by Pandit Chhannulal Mishra is so beautiful that each of its vocal turns invoke a thought of a rainy evening.
