Lovely. I have an old clothesline in my backyard, and I watch bird families come there when teaching their nestlings how to fly. There are repeated wobbly take-offs and wobbly landings until the little ones gain confidence in the air..

Lovely. I spent half an hour yesterday watching a tiny bird teach her baby to fly. It was very hesitant. She coaxed him, with branches every farther away from each other, with a bite of food. To get the next bite, the baby had to start flying. After furtively flapping from branch to branch, baby got it's rhythm. After half an hour they flew away together. This kind of thing is NOT wasted time. I held my breath in anticipation like no thriller movie.

I call my Cardinal 'Little Archie' he's so cute, I leave peanuts on the arm of a chair and he brings his wifey..he stays there while I talk to him, breaking the peanuts up. He knows his name because when I call him and he's not far, I see his tail perks up everytime..I love him, I consider him a Pet, of sorts. It's been almost a year ive been caring for him

I have two families of Cardinals that ran off my blue Jays about a year ago few days ago I seen a blue jay the size of a Chihuahua the Blue Jays been working out 😆

Beautiful birdfeeder-is that from the McKinney store? We watched a bluejay momma spend days training one of her young. Not the brightest bird, but we sure were entertained.

Blue jays are corvids, some of the smartest animals on the planet.

I have a question.....how big can cardinals get? I swear I have one in my yard that is close to a pound or so. He is HUGE. I know he's a cardinal because of the ridge on the top of his head and he's that beautiful vermillion red. There are 2 back there, 1, probably female, is much smaller. I hope they stick around!

The Male Cardinal in the video is the average size here. I have never seen one much larger than that in my area

Did I count 5 young cardinals plus the mom and dad?
