Hello Rajib ji, thanks for your reply and surely i will help you with your query 1. For public island stay i prefer Maafushi rather than Male. Because Male will give you more of urban feel where you you will see lots of tall buildings, corporate offices, government organisations etc. There you will not much feel like you are in Maldives for your holiday. And that island is big too. you have to catch taxi to go from place to place. whereas Maafushi is a small island, you can visit the entire island by walk. everywhere tourist are roaming around. shops are also mainly catering services as per tourist choice. so in my opinion Maafushi will be a better option. I have also made a full walk tour video of Maafushi Island where I have son each and every shop, restaurant and other places of Maafushi island. you can check that for more details. 2. regarding private island tour also I have made a seperate video in my channel about Fihalhohi island. You can check that. it will give you an exact idea about what and all you can do in a day trip of private island. Hi Sanjana, Thanks for your query. The things you mentioned are available in Maldives but for sure not in a budget cost. It will really cost far more than a normal budget. Glowing beach is there in vaadhoo island. And this island is in the extreme north part and too far from male airport. To reach there you have to go for a seaplane. And floating cinemas are also arranged in some luxury resorts but this type of stay will cost us much more than the normal budget. Thank you 😊👍

In day tour you can visit private island and see water villa from outside but generally they don't give entry inside water villa. In some cases when some water villa is not occupied, you can request them to just have a glance of it for few minutes, which is also subjected to their decision. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Hi Monika, Almost all excursions from Maafushi starts by morning 8 to 9am. Maximum they sometimes start at 10am. So if you want an excursion by afternoon, then only over water activities you can get like kayaking or paragliding or bumper/banana rides etc.. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Hi Vani, Yes for water activities there are plenty of shops, so no need to worry. You can book it on the spot or just book it one day before after reaching there. I am telling one day before because on the same day morning if you go you may not have time to look around for various options, so if you go and book it before one day then you can look around and see various available options and various price range. And bargaining is possible if you have more people together in a group. For one or two person they may not give you any discount. Also please tell me on which number you are trying to communicate with icom. May be due to Friday theybare not responding. Because it's mostly leave for admin people on Friday in Maldives. So you can get exact information if you ask in your Resort. They can give you exact details with pricing and timings. Hello Ms. Kavita, The scuba diving in Maldives will cost you not less than 75 to 80 USD. And depending upon various reefs and various locations the cost may go upto 100 to 150 USD also on higher side. These are the cost for one time dive. Yes, if you take a day tour of Fihalhohi Island, the also you can go for water sports activities in Fihalhohi, but it will be very costly (double the price) compared to Maafushi.

Hello Devu, During our water activity there were totally two kids in our boat. So they allowed the kids to go with us on the boat with "kids life Jacket" (without any charges). And during snorkeling the instructors were with us but the boat captain and one another staff was on boat only. So they took care of our daughter every time. 😊 Infact the entire staff was very friendly, they were continuously playing with two kids who were on the boat. And the instructor was well trained, so one by one he took both the kids on his shoulder into the water also, and roaming around with them in the water.. and thus both the kids also had great fun in the water.. Infact the kids were not charged a single penny, but still during lunch they provided juice, fruits, water bottles and all other food items to them also. So that's how you can easily manage with your kids during the water activities.. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Whatever is comfortable for you, that you can carry for transactions. In almost every place forex or any other international cards are accepted. Or you can also do your transaction in cash in the form of USD or MVR in almost every place. In my case I have not used my cards for transactions just for the hidden international transaction charges of banks. So I approximately calculated my total trip expenses and carried USD and MVR currency in cash for my all local expenses during the trip. By the way in few restaurants you can pay in Indian currency also via Gpay or any other UPI. For that you can check an another video in my Maldives series playlist. Thank you once again 😊✌️👍🏼

If you ask me about private Island or public islands stay, then I will say both has its own charms in different way. Private Island stay is much costlier than public islands stay. But the water villa experience you can get only in private island. Whereas you can do various types of water activities in a budgeted manner in public Islands. As well as in public islands you can get all types of budget hotels budget food options and everything in a budgeted manner. And if you want to visit any private Island in a budgeted way, then also from your public island, you can always take a day tour of any private Island which is much more economical than staying in a private Island. Agar morning me aapka activity hai Maafushi me, then it's better to reach maafushi at night itself. Because generally at morning 9 o'clock they will start the water activities. So if you stay near Male or Hulumale, then it will be again difficult for you to reach there in the early morning. Hi Ashish, The half day tour or full day tour options where they take you to certain places as a group in their boats, in those things you cannot customize. They have fixed places and fixed activities, for which they charge a certain amount. So that is fixed. But individual over the water activities like jetski, bumper ride, parasailing, Banana ride, kyaking etc.. you can select individual activity or a bunch of activities as a bundle (for better rates) and you can customize them as per your choice. Its around 2 hours trip all together including boat transfers and other things but the actual Submarine view will be for around 45 minutes to 1 hour approx. This tour will cost you around 85 to 100 USD per adult. It depends on where you have booked your private resort. If it's Fihalhohi, Sun Siyam Olhuveli, Byadhoo or some nearby resort, then you can try. But check the total cost with speed boat transfer. Hi Prayas, Generally in Maafushi they take tour in groups and in a package where along with few more activities one of the location will be a sand bank. Thus you will get more budgeted option. You can book the activities directly after reaching maafushi. There are so many operators, you can check all of them and compare the prices first. And then in the evening you can book the activities for the next day morning. (You have to book it atleast one day in advance because the trip starts from morning and it goes till afternoon or Evening. So if you go directly by morning, then by that time the activity boat might have gone for the excursion.) Thank you 😊👍

No training required. No swimming required. You will be provided with a life jacket which will make you to float even if you don't know swimming. And instructor will be there with you in the water, also there will be some other staff who will take your underwater photos. So these are common things they provide in every snorkeling activity. Hi brother, For water activities generally upto 3 years they don't charge anything. And from 3 to 12 years they charge a child fee which is half of the actual activity cost in most of the cases. (but you can negotiate a little bit on the kids fee, if you have two children). In my case my daughter was 3.5 years and they were charging 50% for her. So I negotiated and made it FOC because she had just crossed the toddlers free limit 😉 Thank you 😊👍🏼

Hi Abhishek, In Maldives forex cards or debit/credit cards are widely accepted in almost every place. But still In my opinion carrying USD (cash) is a better option if you are on a trip of just three to four days. Just because no hidden charges or no other risk. Hi Wasim, Currently no need of any RTPCR for entry in Maldives. But you should be double vaccinated because while returning to India, you have to show a full vaccination certificate or RTPCR copy in Air Suvidha form for entry in our country - India.😊 You can check my Maldives documents related video for more details about all visa related requirements and IMUGA, Air Suvidha Online Form Fill procedure etc. It will give you a very clear idea. I will answer your question it in two ways.😊 Firstly, if you can research a little bit, if you have time to do it, and confidence to go on a international trip without any paid guidance or paid travel agent support, then it's not at all worth to go for a package tour. You will always find the packages atleast 30 to 40% higher than the actual cost. And sometimes it can be double the actual price also. Or you can also search many other videos available on KZread for an easy Maldives tour planning without any package) But if you are a busy person, and don't want to do the extra effort of searching, booking, communicating to various people for hotel stay or private island stay or water activities or ferry bookings, planning days itinerary, and ready to compromise a little bit on budget, then Package tour is best for you. Upto 2 years no charge. 2 to 12 years child fare. Above 12 is considered as adults and charged full fare. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Last year during my travel, the fare was 20 USD per adult and for kids they were charging around 10 USD. So now I think they will charge around 13 to 15 USD approximately. Thank you 😊👍🏼

I wish to stay first 3 nights in maafushi and last 1 night in private island water villa. How can I plan three days activities in maafushi?

First day you will reach almost in the afternoon. So just roam around the island and explore the island on first day. Next say take a half day underwater activity tour and at night go for a beachside dinner. On the third day take a full day activity tour with sand bank and Gulhi island visit. And in the evening you can also do overwater activities in Maafushi like parasailing, Banana ride, bumper ride and all.. That's how you can spend your 3 days in Maafushi Island. It depends on where you have booked your hotel. If your hotel has beach side access, then they will arrange it for you. Or else they generally have tie up with some other hotels, so they will book it in those hotels on behalf of you (and make a cut in between). So in that case it's better to go directly to hotels like "Kani" or few more near the bikini beach area, and ask for a beach side dinner arrangement. They will approximately charge 50 to 60 USD per table with basic arrangements and food cost will be extra. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Hi Supriya, If a bit funny but unique question 😂. Actually human ear has its own pressure and during swimming as you see the water generally doesn't enter because of air already in it. Similarly in snorkeling or scuba also same logic applies. And sometimes even if a little amount of water goes in, it's not an issue.. snorkeling k baad bahar aakar kaan hila hila k paani nikaal lena.😁😂🤣👍

@TravelYatraVlog 🤣😅I know it's funny to ask this..but am a non swimmer n bit afraid of deep water..n also there is a risk of ear infection..so...but we r planning for maldives n I too want to enjoy water activities..not scuba but at least snorkeling..so asked this 😅😅 BTW I heard we can do snorkeling by using ear plugs also... thanx a lot for your prompt rpl..👍

Yes, you can use the ear plugs if you want. Or for ladies it's better to use certain swimming caps, which can cover your both head and ear and keep them safe from salty water.. Thank you 😊👍

Not at all required Gaurav. Infact the icom team told me that you arrive Maafushi first, then we will discuss. Just go to their office one day in advance and finalize you activities For the next day. That's enough. Hope this solves your query. Thank you once again Gaurav🤗👍🏼

Hi Roma, I also mailed them and got the quote. That way you get a better price because the price is allotted by the internal management team. While in case of whatsapp, don't know who handles the phone and they can just give you a random rate. Still if you want to contact then i have a number of Mr. Kandi from icom +9607912069. No, in private Island they will not provide you the option of picking other company water sports. They will provide activity from their team only. And third party activity providers will not even come to the private Island for activities. In order to go for activities from a public Island provider or any third party provider you have to go to their office at their decided time from at their decided place only they will take you for the activity tour in a group (or individually) for half day or full day as per their plan. In that case if you want a budgeted option, then just see if your return flight is at evening, then on last day arrive Male in the morning itself and from Male or Hulhumale area you can get so many operators who can provide you activity packages in more budgeted price compared to oblu. And then after doing a half day or full day activities with them, board the flight at late afternoon or evening.👍🏼✌️
