Actually the water in the river is not dirty, it’s brown in colour because the river bed is made up of sand and not rocks. If the river bed was rocky, then the water would look clearer.

Hot springs will be better to soak in, in cooler weather, that’s why Japanese hot springs are much better 👍🏻

The waater isnt dirty. Its the kind of soil that made it turn that color. We cal it "red soil". We also have "black soil" that runs clear water to look pitch black, but it's actually clean. The water is only crystal clear when there are many stones in the water. We call them "air terjun"".

the river with cold water is not dirty. It was muddy with earth and sand. you can find many rivers like this is Malaysia. Hot springs in malaysia would normally have algae, the green coloured slime. The algae is very good for your skin.

At Selayang one, people don't usually goes into the pool. We just usually either put in our feet only or take a few splashes. I always have a towel & rent the buckets to have a relaxing wipes. Felt better at night, some Chinese uncles from the nearby residency will come & put on some songs while chill at the hottest pool. Now I wonder how does Japanese onsen feels like if you guys said that is hot.

You can also soak in it. I like it so much. You should try it. There is also Air Terjun Sekayu(waterfall) and Tasik Kenyir in Hulu Terengganu.

They also got the cold mini water theme park at the back. There, they clearly marked the pools with different temperature. You can boil eggs at the hottest one. Lots of activities can be done.

Go in the morning, about 1 hour track to the waterfall crossing small clean streams. Then you can enjoy the food there. Also some hot springs nearby if you're too cold from the river bath.
