You know that Malaysian rain forest is very wild and dangerous even for the group of 3 to 4 people, it still quite dangerous and unpredictable. From the big predators like tiger to poisonous snakes and insects, we need to bring some local villagers along to guide in order not to get lost in jungle.

TF and other designer perfumes don't use the actual oud. They use a synthetic form which doesn't even smell like oud. Not even close. It's entirely different smell. Of course we have many different types of oud depending on where it's harvested; but none of them smell like TF. I recommend don't spend whole bunch on the actual oud oil because you may not like it at all. Get a small sampler (still expensive) but that saves you a lot

The white wood you are seeing is called "KYEN" it means the wood is filled with oil. The resin you are referring to is called "SEAH". When agarwood is forming, it first starts to produce the KYEN oil, then over time it accumulates and forms SEAH, which is the kind used for incense. Basically, if you leave it alone you will get a crust of SEAH or fragrant incense grade resin on the outside near the sapwood and toward the heartwood you will get a lot of oil or KYEN. But it always starts with KYEN. When making oils you need KYEN not SEAH. Some KYEN appears white when its a little oil, but with a lot of wood you can get a lot of oil after distilation, it depends on how much wood you have. And some KYEN is so oil rich it appears green or yellow or brown. Some incense grade wood can be mostly KYEN, it all depends on the quality and age and oil content. KYARA is the best agarwood and it is mostly KYEN. It is a bit confusing but to keeps things simpe, KYEN is for oil and SEAH is for incense. KYEN you cannot always see, but SEAH makes the resin and makes the wood sink. Kyara is oil rich wood. So lets say a tree is 300 years old and instead of forming SEAH it kept making oil, you will have a very high grade Kyara tree. Vice versa a tree is 300 years old and it formed SEAH for 300 years, you wil have rock hard resin that sinks and can be used to make carvings. Then you have wood that is a combination of SEAH and KYEN.

There are two process one natural syem borer insect which lives n bores in agar tree results valuable resins form in holes it is more valuable.. The insect is not found anywhere.. Some specific trees as well as soil n climate is major factor.. The increasing holes made by borers day by day means plant is more valuable.. The resin forming fungus transform the woods scanted also it works nicely in stem borers hole .bedobrot,, India.. Assam.. Jorhat..

Ah that would be Indian oils for the most part, and some Burmese as well (central and western). Sometimes you can get that profile from other regions too, but it's less common. e.g. Pursat 4K which you can see on the website, it's got that too. Oud oleoresin only gets produced as a defense mechanism to a variety of stress stimuli, whether its sickness, animal attacks, lightning strikes, and so on. Humans added RoundUp to the list.
