CRX was smoking because the exhaust fitted just a couple hours before the drive had been coated with oil for storage reasons we figured something might have blown on the engine, so after the petrol station regroup I split off and retired the car. Thankfully it immediately burnt off the oil and everything was good again. The next day it was taken to a shop and it was checked over healthy with full oil and good compression. Hooray! Glad you enjoyed the time on the touge.
The roads to Genting Highlands are fun. I was lucky enough to experience them, but unlucky to have been in a rental econobox. Malaysia is a beautiful country and the people are some of the nicest I have been fortune to meet. Big shout out to my friends in Penang. Dino, when are you going to visit Ireland?!

Should you visit us again Dino, I highly recommend going through an alternative route to Genting which is the Ulu Yam/Batang Kali pass if the road repairs are finished by then. Being from Ulu Yam town, I would always drive up to Genting through there every chance I get and I find it just as exciting as the Gombak route that you took.

Look like a hell of a mountain road. This is a cool look at the way there car culture differs from around my area. Very inviting to those who don’t act a fool, tight knit and helpful.

Love the Corolla, waiting for my allocation for a 24 circuit model on a few lists and #1 at my local dealer I think it will complement my SC MR2 pretty well 😆
You haven't reached the peak yet. You need to go up to Genting and back down. But kinda bummer since they put a lot of speed bumps on corners so you can't really go fast now. The best route to take would be Genting to Gohtong then to Batang Kali and Ulu Yam to Selayang. However the Gohtong to Batang Kali pass was closed due to landslide. But anyways if you have time you definitely have to try the Ulu Yam pass.

I imagine the penalty for this kind of driving would be the loss of a finger or something pretty stiff
