I am a Bengali. And, I also feel same when someone from Hindi speaking states stereotypes us like - we only eat fish, we support Bangladesh, we speak Monday-Tuesday as Mondoy-Tuesdoy & stupid stuffs like that!

I too have some north indian friends when I was done 6 months course in British council. They are now good friends to me but seriously our first meeting was not good. When we meet first time they were pretend to know about South indians just starting the phrase like "Ennada Rascala Mind it" I was like "Dei Engerndhu da Vareenga". And I asking them what do you know about South indians. They were saying we watched chennai express so we know about South indians. Seriously they don't have any idea about South indians. 😂

First of all you just insulted me by calling me “mental”. I laughed because I find it funny. You please don’t laugh at it if you didn’t find it funny but you have no right to call anyone ‘mental’! Secondly, nobody said anything about power. Language is used for communication. There’s no power value to it. Communication should be done politely no matter which language you speak.
