This video showcases the remarkable work of the Radio Listening Clubs (RLCs) in raising awareness and providing essential health services for diabetes and hypertension to rural populations across Malawi.
Join us as we explore villages where these clubs operate, highlighting their efforts in chronic disease screening, awareness campaigns, healthy lifestyle counselling and life-changing stories from the communities they serve.
RLCs represent a unique community-based initiative led by the local NGO / developmentcommunicati... . The Clubs aim to increase awareness and engagement with accurate, localised, and gender-responsive information. Trained volunteers expand education on gestational diabetes, mental health, and prevention of complications. They also facilitate basic screenings and referrals.

The Malawi NCD programme is funded by the World Diabetes Foundation and implemented by Partners in Health, the Malawi Ministry of Health, and local partners such as the Development Communication Trust.
