Fantastic stuff Mike. I had someone tell me that a small chip/pitch is the basics of a full swing many years ago but I have forgotten it over the years. Thanks for the reminder. I'm trying to rebuild my swing after a bad car accident and subsequent surgery. Been searching for a swing that's easier on my body. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

Mike's explanation of the hand path and clubface during the downswing has got me back to hitting the ball properly again. In my opinion as an ex pro he is the best out there explaining swing mechanics

I agree if I pressure my right heel as mentioned here it helps my swing and feels good for the back. However my hopes with this quickly are crushed because it starts to make my right knee ache shortly after. Doesn’t feel like something I could do too long without getting a knee injury. I never see it addressed how to do this sort of foot action while not putting too much inward pressure on the right (trail knee). I’ll add I’m young’ish and have what I’d consider good mobility in hips etc. I work out and I spend a lot of effort/time improving mobility for golf. Curious if others have similar issue and/or advice.

Left shoulder down, left shoulder up. Like a chip. Hands don't move. Shoulders move hands. This is how I am going to teach my grandson. Putting, chipping, pitching, driver. In that order. A three year old can learn how to putt and read a green. He can also practice without a golf course nearby. The last PGA championship had at least 6 players who could have won. It all came down to putting.

It did not say in the video, but I got this drift from it. The player he is teaching, must have or had an early extension problem which they are trying to work out, by doing foot work relative to hand work in the full swing. Wiffle/plastic balls get rid of a Hit impulse, they only go so far, so you work on the technique more. Interested in see how this progress's with this Student/teacher.

I think some of the comments are coming from The Jim Hardy " One plane swing, with the right throw." Hardy brings his left hand down and right arm out on the arc in the downswing....sans club face rotation.

Since Mike states there is no weight shift on the backswing, I’m wondering what others think about the left knee on the backswing. I found it easier to to rotate my right femur on the downswing if I did not rotate my left knee towards the ball on my backswing, being a right-handed golfer. I was always taught “kick the left knee towards the ball on the backswing.” Any thoughts anyone?

This part of golf always confused me. So how do we press down on our right heel to push off while also getting our weight into our left foot?

"So how do we press down on our right heel to push off while also getting our weight into our left foot?' Well there is no way yo do it by consciously thinking about it. The brain doesn't work like that. It has to happen as a reaction to your task.

Isn't a "feel" something your mind has to think about though? If your mind is focused on your feels when do we think about the task at hand, the flight plan, and the target?

Quite strange. Mike is the only one who really understands the fysiology of the human body and connects it to a golf swing. He really explains very well what are causes and effects of swingflaws and why they happen . I can only suggest to watch the rest of his video’s. Extremely helpful and consistent in messging

I like Mike, but his latest videos contradict his earlier videos. And tipping the shaft is a steepening move not a shallowing move. And the L to L forearm rotation contradicts his no rotation and throwing the right hand videos he has presented recently. He is confusing me. If you can explain it I would be greatly appreciated.

@@nathanperry9593 hi Nathan, Indeed he doesn’t speak in this latest one on tipping the club out. But he talks about keeping the club on plane compared to the swing arc. These were small chip shots to get a feeling about what the hands do and how to put force in the ground, by keeping the right heel down, so you avoid getting closer to the ball with the hips. And be able to push away from the ball. Maybe he didn’t use all the wording he does when he does a video which is not a player lesson. Regarding shallowing the club I’m It sure to which videos you refer to create the confusion. I have watch all the videos multiple times and have found his teaching story very consistent
