My husband and I were married on Mackinaw Island in 1996. We had 23 wonderful years together before his sudden death in 2019. When I listen to this beautiful, haunting song, my heart aches for him. He's my one true love, my eternal, forever love. I can't wait to see him again.

Feel like you. Maybe the thumbs down signals deep suffering with self hate not recognized. Any beauty or love is rejected. I've been a psychoanalyst for five decades. Seen this in myself and countless others.

I saw this movie the day it premiered in LA in 1980 and was so enchanted by it, that I sat through it FOUR (4) times the day it opened. I saw it another 10 or 15 times BEFORE it left circulation. I was a single 26 year old male who wished and hoped I'd find a woman I could love as much as RICHARD COLLIER loved ELISE MCKENNA. Sadly, that never happened, but I remained in the military and carried a copy of this film, a CD with the Soundtrack and a DVD player with me whenever I deployed overseas. It got me through some very tough times. Thank you Chris, Jane, the rest of the cast and John Barry for this evocative and haunting music. RIP CHRIS REEVE!

@lisa gaye Lisa, I am so pleased to have read your comments. Did you know that the movie has a fan club? It's called INSITE for "International Network of Somewhere In Time Enthusiasts. I've written for their journal in the past. I also had the MOST HELPFUL review of the movie at Amazon, but Amazon took it down when they changed the policy of only posting reviews by verified purchasers. My review also garnered about 50 separate comments by people who at first thought it was a woman who wrote it and then were surprised to find out that a young man of 26 had. I also had the great and good luck to be invited to the 20th Anniversary showing of the movie at the AMC 25 Cineplex in NYC. I'd previous met Chris Reeve (he was wheelchair bound at this point) and was introduced to Jane Seymour - she asked me if I was the author of the review at Amazon and I told her that I was. I admitted to still having a huge crush on her and she laughed and hugged me. I would suggest you look up INSITE and contact them if you'd like to connect with like-minded lovers of this enchanting and haunting film. Before I forget, yes I did read BID TIME RETURN by Richard Matheson and after having done so, made a point of staying at Hotel Del Coronado on a trip to San Diego. Thank you for your note and I hope you will continue to find happiness SOMEWHERE IN TIME. "Excess within control."

Somewhere in time, We'll share One love, One life. And with each gentile touch I know This much, Its true. And when we kiss, I see forever, And in your arms, Im lost, you find me again. No words, no writes, Describe this pain inside, No matter how hard i tried, I die inside, To let you go, To say goodbye My heart breaks forever Somewhere in time, i know We'll meet again You're in my heart You're in my soul And if you go away from me I cant let go. Until begin, I know, We'll meet again Somewhere in time.

My Grandmother was my real mother. At least though my eyes. She was always there for me as my parents were so busy realizing that Dream. I’m more than 70 now, but I cherish all she taught, possession given and above all her wisdom. She never had any degree. For me, the highest! She never backed down to anyone. Spoke her mind. Even to the church. Here earthly end was spectacular for this small space.

"The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of, in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him if he were really here ? "Forgive me. I have never known this feeling. I have lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, I failed to recognise you? You, who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you". Such would I say to him if he were really here."

My parents’ song. My dad turns 90 tomorrow. I can’t stop thinking how grateful I am to have been raised by a man whose morals are so good. Gone are the days of gentlemen of old. They will be remembered, at least for me, in song. Dad is still going strong but I dread the day he isn’t. He is my hero, and if it weren’t for God and Jesus, I’m convinced he, in my opinion is the greatest man alive. Stupid covid, can’t hug him:(

I always thought Obama was a respectful and honest man. Opinions differ. I feel with this in mind, it’s not so whom we expect, but what God shows us that will be the discerning factor. ❤️✝️

"SOMEWHERE IN TIME" Just gorgeous, reminds me of years ago, I met my secret lover at the Grand Hotel, on northern Michigan’s Mackinac Island; it was like being in heaven, we were there just off season so it was quiet and peaceful. That love passed away and I am left with my memories. We met all over the world, but that place will remain in my mind as one of the most relaxing, lovely, sites we were ever sequestered in that beautiful 5-day weekend. We had champagne and appetizers on the terrace (with a view of the grounds and lake) before dining but had most of our meals sent to our suite and we only left it a few times, to dine and listen to the small music group, or to take the carriage ride. I'd take a horse-back ride on a gorgeous trail or a dip in the pool while my love handled some phone business. What an unforgettable memory that is, I just wish I could capture that time just once again, but alas, my memory will have to suffice. This music takes me back there in spirit so I shall return!! Thank you for posting.

Tessa I am so sorry, My wife died 15/12/2022 after 52 years of marriage ,Head and neck cancer took her,I am heartbroken , I can only imagine how hard it can be finding a soul mate again only to be left alone once more. The film and music tell us so much about human emotions I too am now alone when I look at Jane Seymore in this film I see my wife looking back at me .i know one day she will wait for me on the bridge in Banbury England where we met 1966. Hold fast Tessa ,may you find comfort in the music. Much love to you Ged Upton England.

What's more tragic is that the man you love would not choose you because you are much older than him and is afraid to loose another loved one...instead in the end, he dies years ahead than you?? tragic, tragic! he could have just followed his heart and chose you because you were, in the first place, destined for each other....
