When your enemy is calmly analyzing and correctly deducing what your awakened power is without even being worried for a second, that should be your clue to get the f out of there. Also, the webnovel's version of this fight is more appealing to me: When Makoto drew this bow out of nowhere, Sofia senses that its dangerous and tries to attack Makoto from every possible angle. She weaves magic attacks while attacking Makoto's armor. Makoto sees that she's shaving the armor off, so he reinforces it with a Strengthening Sakai and stops the attacks from damaging the armor completely. He then takes out an arrow, fills it up with mana and targets one of the swords in the alternate reality space. Sofia sees this and speeds up her attacks, wich does absolutely nothing to deter Makoto. He then fires the arrow, which hits a sword and causes an explosion. The explosion destroys everything inside the AR space and shaves a bit of the armor around Makoto. The AR space breaks and Makoto then goes towards Stella Fort, and the rest is history.

You know you're dead when the mc wear red outfit and dragged into Unlimited Blade Works.

My theory is that it's a high risk buff. While in here, she can fully tap into the skills and powers that the owners of these swords possessed in life, but at the same time, the source of those powers is exposed and vulnerable. Against a tough swordsman, this probably COULD function as a desperate final trump card. But... she already knew that she was up against somebody who can do AOE attacks. I can only assume that she got cocky because at this point she was so delirious from desperation that she didn't realize the obvious: that given his capabilities, her situation hadn't changed a bit.

@@leyrua i'm hanging my coat on the delirious hook I've no clue how it works but the allusion that her life is tied with the swords implies it would be a lot harder to put her down if the swords remain inaccessible, even in desperation exposing such a weak point just feels braindead

@@jelleluyten5017 So, let's presume she's not COMPLETELY an idiot. There's a few reasons you might bring a person into this setting given what's stated in this PRECISE scene. While each sword is a life of someone who now belongs to you, I.E. her extended healthbar, being in the area of them is a large powerboost, large enough the protag directly acknowledges it as substantial. If she'd kept fighting as she was before domain expanding, she'd just get killed, yeah, she'd have enough healthbars to take a minute, but she was going to die one way or another, and given each of his attacks destroyed multiple swords, this was likely true even outside of this space. By pulling him into her space, if she was only about 20% short of where he was (Which would still be a substantial difference at the level she was at) and it was a 40% buff, she'd smash him as easy as he was smashing her if the only thing that matters in the setting is power, and technique has nothing to do with it. Next off, if he was an idiot (He's not) pulling him into a new space might be enough to put him off his paces, which, given he's a somewhat heavy magic user, a momentary mixup like that would be enough to give her the full advantage again. After all, she has that much life, and he only has one. This is unlikely to be in her thoughts given she didn't charge him the split second she went into the new plane, giving him time to monologue, but it's also possible she saw him boredly monologuing and decided he wasn't mixed up enough and wanted to find out what he 'thought' were the rules of this place so she could win. Also, it's an anime, someone's going to explain every power as they see it. For the last 'win condition' note, Lancer's blade -barely- kept up with the bow. Without it, she'd have straight up lost, but with it, she actually theoretically had a chance, she was a baby with a 9mm. Not ACTUALLY a threat, but no longer something that could be completely ignored by the protagonist as 'functionally irrelevant.' As she had been for more or less the entire rest of the fight. Finally, if each of those swords weren't just added healthbars, but instead years of life, as implied by her taking Lancer's remaining life if he died, destroying swords just takes out decades or centuries of lifespan from her, and any that were already burned out would theoretically have already rusted and dissolved into dust. As such, destroying them is more just "Really annoying" and something she'd prefer she stopped you from doing, and less "Actually dangerous to her."

Not really if you get down to specifics. Pretty similar tho. Unlimited blade works. Creates a world of endless blades without owners under shiro’s control. Where he can Summon a copy of any weapon or defensive armament he’s seen, and instantly master and use it to its fullest ability. With a slight healing factor, that fills any wounds he get with blades/metal. Literally turning him into a sword(tho activates too much this can kill him.)

Not bro calling her domain shitty

If you're going to pull a Domain Expansion style move of bringing someone into your plane to get a power boost, why not also hide the very fragile weapons that are your life bar?

I find it amusing that he used an arrow designed for duck hunting on her. The head of the arrow he shoots that she cuts with Lance's sword is made to bounce and skip across water, allowing a decent chance to hit swimming birds. It can also be used against other amall game though. In reality, its a pretty terrible arrow to shoot against a person. The small points are not going to do much penetration (in reality they would be bone or wood) and mostly exist to catch the arrow on reeds at the edge of a pond, so it's easier to retrieve the arrow. The blunt behind the points is meant to do damage, hitting hard enough to severely injury or kill small animals like ducks and rabbits, but pretty much useless against a human.

To him anything he shoots is super deadly, so they filled the tip of the Arrow with his mana. Even if his arrow had no tip and it was just a stick, it would still go through most creatures in that world...

No, that was just her domain. She has a lot to go before she can get her Domain Expansion.

He struggles to staying alive in his growing up pain. Live is fragile and everyone should be accountable for their lives and work hard for it. It you can not make it then you are just like the cat losing it's live. He keeps suppressing his feeling and showing no emotion or any sort in fear of losing people he cares about, until his citizens sacrifices their lives.
