Collated screws are the way to go! You can hang about 25-30% more boards per 2-Man crew each day. It’s also great to increase the speed of apprentices working alongside experienced dry wallers. This video shows the old magazine. The newer version, SD-M2 can be used for up to 2” long screws. The SD 4500 Screwgun also has a constant-run switch to increase speed and decrease carpal tunnel injury from constantly squeezing the trigger. It has a grip on the body that should be used too, instead of the handle, for better balance. And for added comfort, use the smaller 2.6amp or 3.0amp battery. Look for tool kits, including the SCO 6 Router and SID 4 Impact Driver. They offer deals and if you work with an Account Manager, they’ll package together a sweet deal. Call them at the end of the month for the best pricing.

Nice work! May I ask: what's the size of plasterboards in Australia? They're so large!!! The color of screws - not black as I usually see - are related to the wood studs? There's no need to be phosphated? Thanks for sharing!

I’ve used makita , hilti and Milwaukee…all 3 are good , hilti seam to have edge in smoothness, makita are just a good all rounder and popular in Australia. Milwaukee are great if you have other Milwaukee tools with the battery platform

It jams because it's screw size adjustment is for 32mm screws and you're using 25mm. I've been using it for 8 years now. Biggest advantage is that you can take the magazine and use it as an impact drive. (With some practice!)

I was using Makita for years, but I sold it and start using hilti. Why use hilti: -Longer battery life for continually working. -easy to fixe screw close to corner -more powerful than makita (22.5》18). I sometimes use it fixing villaboard screws in some commercial external sofit work Sure, hilti has problem as well -heavier. bigger battery gives more weight -cost more money. This is not a disadvantage if you look for a better performance collated gun. -not compare with you mates‘ charger or battery.Have to bring your own all the time.

My jaw dropped when I saw how fast you can hang drywall with these guns. I'm a one-man remodeling company and do all my own drywall - because my projects are too small for decent drywall companies to bother with. I've cut my hanging time in half. I don't see any companies using this tool here (Madison Wisconsin USA); their still using the regular drywall gun.... I bought the Makita cause I have other Makita tools. Had trouble with jamming until I figured out the screw length setting. Great tool. Great video. Thanks!

My guess is that the customer will be putting on trim/casing around the top of the room. very often with my projects there is a small gap left between the drywall and the floor but it doesn't matter due to the installation of the trim board. My guess is they are aware of the trim being installed on top later and decided to hang the bottom sheet first because it is much easier to do and it helps assure the gaps in between the two boards are minimal.
