Makita LH1201FL Table Top Mitre Saw
Brief video demonstrating the Makita LH1201 table top mitre saw as I bought this to replace my sliding mitre saw so that I can make occasional cuts using the table feature without having to buy a dedicated table saw.

Just FYI for safety, you really should use the push stick on the side of the wood against the fence. That piece can fly back and hit you if you don't. You can see in the video that it did start to fly back.

Also you shouldn’t keep your fingers that close to the blade because if it does get kickback or bind up it can pull your fingers into the blade. There’s many sawstop videos of it happening on KZread.
Thx Matt! Great video, helps a lot while unpacking.
Thanks for the review nice job. Love the saw! 🤓🤓
Looks like a Nice little Tool 👍
This video clearly illustrates how NOt to use a table saw . he is using the push stick on the wrong side of the blade . this is one of the most dangerous things you can do on a table saw . it's amazing the cut piece between the blade and the fence did not kick back .

He has blade guard and riving knife on place , those prevent most accidents , yeah the piece between side guide and blade can still fly off . Also it was short piece of lumber , usually you use table saw first, for long material and then miter saw . First job is to make some push aides from 2 by 4 or plywood and forget that plastic stick , its Makita so it is likely that its not the type that explodes when hitting blade.
Bosch had one of these too. Cool idea but only for projects that are small, flooring, trim, etc.

I was looking for this hybrid tool years ago
good demonstration
Your left hand should NEVER be up to or past the blade. Your left hand should be held back before the blade. PERIOD! Your push stick should NEVER be pushing on the waste side of the cut. Never! Period!

Thanks for the video, but I have a question where can I buy this saw?
I don't think any manufacturers sell these combo saws in the US and I don't know why. I think they are pretty cool. Of course, we're all so spoiled that we would need a cordless, brushless, wireless dust-extractor switching model. Why not? Thanks for the demo and good luck with the channel!

Virutex does

Another thing that annoys me is they often don't have a option for dust collection in circular saws in North America, but usually do everywhere else with the same brand.
Guys, I love this machine, but have no idea why, both my laser and light are not working. Any idea? From another tools, I got even dedicated AA batteries for laser, but cannot find any on this. Any ideas?
good tool for flooring jobs
I like to see it cut a sheet of plywood and how big is the blade 12 inch? I'd prefer a sliding saw .
Thanks for the video. One thing I cannot figure out is if it’s possible to use the table saw function for bevelled edge cuts? I need to cut some long planks to box in some pipes.

I don't see any connections that would tilt the blade and not the work surface. I also don't see enough clearance on the surface, around the blade to suggest that it can tilt.

I'd get a track saw.
What are the rubber gloves for, did he just come from giving cavity searches?
@BrokenCurtain

The gloves are there to make sure the hand gets pulled into the blade once one of the teeth gets hooked on the rubber.
4:18 hi! Great videos! When i lean the blade to 45' actualy is going to 43 max,do you now how to adjust it? Thanks
Does it slide?
So cool! I wish the table was a bit more robust and had some slots for a sled and a little larger.
Is it good for cutting metal abrasive wheel
Nice one, thanks
Where can I buy it?
Hi! Love the review! Question: in the description on the Makita website it says: remember to change the blade when switching saw-mode. You don’t seem to do that in the video, or do you?
@briankleinschmidt3664

That was my thought. I think he used the wrong blade when he ripped those 2x4's. No trouble cutting across the grain, though.

@@briankleinschmidt3664 exactly, but would I have to buy a second blade or not? To me that would be pretty much a dealbreaker. I have no interest in switching blades all the time. It would kind of kill the whole dual mode saw thing for me.

@@p-rt-l2792i dont think you need to switch blades if you want to use the table saw for like 5 minutes

The blade is fine lol. It may not be optimal but it’s perfectly fine. Never in my life have I changed a blade on my circular saw just for ripping and I probably wouldn’t do it with this either.
I have never seen anything like this. I cannot decide if it is brilliant or stupid. Seems like either way it would be dangerous.

Just an unbranded mitre saw table that cost around £50 in the UK. What I did do after the video though was shorten the legs by about 100mm to make it a bit easier in table mode.
Didn't know this tool existed
Want!
Great video though!!!
How much this machine

Сколько стоит в долларах???
Yeah that thing looks dangerous. You are going to get a piece shot back at you because it binds at the fence
that guard is so dangerous! weird!
If ya need BOTH a table saw and miter saw GOOD idea takes up LESS Space for The home Boy builders out there, lol
ShopSmith 2.0
Great video footage, sadly this is just not for me, looks way above dangerous for my liking.. Stick to a machine for one purpose 1 table saw and an additional sliding mitre saw, tread with caution with this all in one machine!
I think that BOSCH GTM 12JL table saw is better and safer.

No. Makita version is better.
Wow as a 35yr carpenter I am not impressed. Good video work but the tool will be problematic at best. These hybrid tools just dont cut it for the most part. I see a real dangerous combo there for anyone just getting into woodworking and would steer clear of this one. Learn the craft on dedicated tools would be my advice, your hands will thank you

Dangerous
Well… no
I don't like it because it don't look safe
Not sold in us. Too stupid to use
As a contractor for the last 20 years I would never buy this new stupid tool for my jobs possible for my house but not for projects, I rather have my d setup of tools mitter saw and table saw separately at the high and angle that I need it each one and not adjusting it a for every phase of the materials... Good luck 👍 with this tool
Please learn how to securely use it, you will loose a finger someday
Copying Bosch. They did it first, still not impressed

This machine looks like a mess.
I can't watch, looks like it's dangerous and won't do either job very well...
Take my advice or not but please don't wear gloves running a table saw. I've seen it happen twice.
The worst product of Makita.... I have and I am very disapointed!
Personally, I would rather want Makita to design and make their own separate table saw.
