    That would be Masanobu Fukuoka you're referring to? He didn't exactly invent them but did popularize an ancient method.

    I love this! Can I use bentonite clay and do this on my front hilltop lawn? Can I place them where I want them to grow? Really great video would love to get kids involved.

    What time of year do you put down your seed bombs? Or does it depend on the season?

    Did I miss when you actually add the seeds? Do you mix them in with the litter and soil before the water?

    Not everyone lives in Oklahoma, why make 12 when you can make 100 and fire them off in different directions? it's a nice surprise and a mystery for your neighbors "never tell them!" 🤫 They also forgot chilli powder to divert the slugs! And wear gloves.

    How do these work in practice; ie the normal way is to thin out seedlings. Seed bombs appear to have a lot of seeds (some bombs ave mixed seed) this would usually mean thinning out.

    Hey Karen, thanks for tuning in! To answer your question, bentonite-based litter is best for seed bombs. It is also known as clumping litter, you'll want to avoid non-clumping litter. You can use any brand of clumping litter.

    Do you plant them in the garden by laying them in rows?

  • @OklahomaGardening

    @OklahomaGardening

    You can, or you can just put them out randomly. The idea behind the "bomb" is that it can just be thrown out wherever you want to plant some wildflowers.
